    • A separation process for recovering organic components from liquid streams. The process is a combination of pervaporation and decantation. The liquid stream to be treated (501) contains at least two organic compounds. A first decantation step (502) is used to remove an organic product phase (503), and the residue (504) from the decanter is then treated by a pervaporation step (505). The pervaporation step (505) is used to concentrate the remaining organic to a point above the solubility limit, so that a permeate stream (507) that will phase separate is formed. The condensed permeate stream (509) is then passed to a second decantation step (510). The aqueous stream (511) from the second decanter is returned to the pervaporation step (505). A system for performing the above steps on a three component feed stream (501) is also disclosed. The system includes a first decanter (502), a pervaporation unit (505) and a second decanter (510).
