摘要： A fiber optic connector includes a connector housing having a distal end and a proximal end. The connector also includes a ferrule assembly having a ferrule and a ferrule spring. The ferrule has a distal end face accessible at the distal end of the connector housing. The ferrule spring biases the ferrule in a distal direction relative to the connector housing. The connector further includes a boot mounted at the proximal end of the connector housing. The boot has a distal end that mounts over the proximal end of the connector housing and a proximal end. The boot defines a central axis extending along a length of the boot from the distal end to the proximal end of the boot. The boot defines a central passage extending through the length of the boot. A strain relief portion is adjacent the proximal end of the boot. The strain relief portion has a truncated, conical outer shape. The strain relief portion is formed by a plurality of co-axial rings separated by axial gaps. The rings are interconnected by axial links that extend across the axial gaps. The central passage has a proximal portion corresponding to a length of the strain relief portion. The proximal portion defines a transverse cross-dimension, and a majority of the rings of the strain relief portion of the boot have radial thicknesses that are at least 50 percent as long as the transverse cross-dimension.

摘要： The present invention relates to the management of cables extending to and from fiber termination blocks with sliding fiber adaptor modules within a fiber distribution frame. The blocks include a splitter chassis and fiber optic splitters mounted within the chassis. Another aspect of this invention relates to a fiber distribution frame with a plurality of fiber termination blocks with sliding cable adaptor modules mounted to the frame. The modules are mounted to the blocks to allow selective access to an adaptor. The modules may be configured in two groups which slide from opposite sides of the blocks. A splitter chassis is mounted to each fiber termination block for holding one or more fiber optic splitters.

摘要： A telecommunications (10) assembly includes a chassis (12) and a plurality of fiber optic splitter modules (14) mounted within the chassis. Each splitter module includes at least one fiber optic connector (118). Within an interior of the chassis are positioned at least one fiber optic adapter (16). Inserting the splitter module through a front opening of the chassis at a mounting location positions the connector of the splitter module for insertion into and mating with the adapter of the chassis. The adapters mounted within the interior of the chassis are integrally formed as part of a removable adapter assembly. A method of mounting a fiber optic splitter module within a telecommunications chassis is also disclosed.
