    • A coil includes a first portion (415), a second portion (420), a third portion (427), and a fourth portion (428). The first portion (415) is wound in a first direction around a first core (435) and the second portion (420) is wound in the first direction around a second core (440). The third portion (427) is wound in a second direction that is different from the first direction around a third core (445) such that the third portion (427) is decoupled from the first and second portions (415, 420). Additionally, the fourth portion (428) is wound in the second direction aroung a fourth core (450) and decoupled from the first and second portions (415, 420). An inner area is formed by arranging the portions and a voltage is induced in the coil if an electrical conductor is placed in the inner area.

    • An improved vacuum interrupter (500) is disclosed. The vacuum interrupter (500) includes a ring-shaped structure (508, 510) placed between a contact support structure (502, 504) and an electrical contact (506, 512) associated with the contact support structure (502, 504). A resistivity of the ring-shaped structure (508, 510) is higher than that of the contact support structure (502, 504), so that current traversing the ring-shaped structure (508, 510) on its way from the contact support structure (502, 504) to the electrical contact (506, 512) is evenly distributed. The ring-shaped structure (508, 510) may be fit into an end portion of the contact support structure (502, 504), the end portion having an diameter less than an outer diameter of the support structure, but greater than an inner diameter of the support structure. Alternatively, the end portion may be used without the ring-shaped portion, in which case the electrical contact (506, 512) may be shaped to fit into the end portion.

    • Memory sharing techniques include providing a first device and one or more additional devices. Each device has a memory and is configured to be connected to a network. A portion of the first device memory is allocated, and may be divided into two or more first device memory segments. Each first device memory segment corresponds to a device, and at least one of the first device memory segments corresponds to an additional device. A portion of the additional device memory is allocated, and may be divided into two or more additional device memory segments. Each additional device memory segment corresponds to a device, and at least one additional device memory segment corresponds to the first device. A first device data segment is provided to the additional device, and a first device data validity indication is derived at the additional device. The first device data validity indication is associated with the first device data segment, and the additional device memory segment corresponding to the first device is updated based on the association.
