The devices, systems, and methods can include an indicium reader, such as an optical character recognition device, for reading indicium from objects. The educational devices can be a selfcontained, portable unit with the indicium reader, the display, and the audio producing device supported by a housing of the educational devices.

摘要： An integrated shredder and waste collecting apparatus is provided. The apparatus includes a waste receptacle (44) integrated with a shredder (70). A waste bin may be included within the receptacle to collect waste products. The shredder includes an inlet for materials to be fed into the shredder and an outlet through which shredded material is dispensed. The shredded material is dispensed into the receptacle or the waste bin. The waste bin may be removable from the receptacle to dispose of shredded material and other waste therein. The apparatus may include a cover pivotally connected to the receptacle and operable to selectively cover and uncover the receptacle and the waste bin. The waste-receiving opening may be defined in the cover.

摘要： An automated casing removal system for removing the casing of encased food products supported on a support frame. An inclined surface on the support frame has a staging area onto which encased food product is loaded. The staging area has a cutting member moveable along a portion of the length of the staging area, and a stop mechanism downstream from the cutting member on the inclined surface. The stop mechanism extends within a plane which intersects the inclined surface to prevent the food product from moving down the inclined surface. The staging area has retaining member upstream of the stop mechanism which retains the casing to unravel the casing from the food product as the food product rolls down the inclined surface when the stop mechanism is removed.
