摘要： An aqueous binder composition is provided that includes a carbohydrate and a crosslinking agent. In exemplary embodiments, the carbohydrate-based binder composition may also include a catalyst, a coupling agent, a process aid, a crosslinking density enhancer, an extender, a moisture resistant agent, a dedusting oil, a colorant, a corrosion inhibitor, a surfactant, a pH adjuster, and combinations thereof. The carbohydrate may be natural in origin and derived from renewable resources. Additionally, the carbohydrate polymer may have a dextrose equivalent (DE) number from 2 to 20. In at least one exemplary embodiment, the carbohydrate is a water-soluble polysaccharide such as dextrin or maltodextrin and the crosslinking agent is citric acid. Advantageously, the carbohydrates have a low viscosity and cure at moderate temperatures. The environmentally friendly, formaldehyde-free binder may be used in the formation of insulation materials and non-woven chopped strand mats. A method of making fibrous insulation products is also provided.

摘要： Particle toughened, fiber-reinforced composites include a fiber region and an interlayer region between the fibers. The fiber region includes a plurality of fibers at least partially within a first polymer composition including a first base polymer formulation and a first plurality of toughening particles. The interlayer region includes a second polymer composition including a second base polymer formulation and at least one of the first plurality of toughening particles and a second plurality of toughening particles. Examples of first and second pluralities of toughening particles, respectively, may include core shell rubbers and polyimides. Increasing concentration of the first plurality of toughening particles may improve the composite toughness while preserving thermal properties of the composite, such as weight loss after extended duration exposure to elevated temperature. It is further discovered that the relative placement of the toughening particles influences composite mechanical properties, such as compression after impact (CAI) strength.

The high refractive resin has a 3 or more-functional epoxy resin expressed by the following formula (I): wherein R1 is a hydrogen atom or methyl group, R2 is a 2-valent organic group, and R3 to R10 are respectively ones selected from a group consisting of a hydrogen atom, a substituent group, and a molecular chain containing epoxy group.

The brightness enhancement film of the present invention comprises: an intermediate layer containing a double refraction sea-island fiber; and a matrix laminated onto both sides of the intermediate layer, wherein an interface between the intermediate layer and the matrix has a void area of 5% or less. A curling phenomenon rarely occurs in the brightness enhancement film of the present invention, and air bubbles are hardly generated in the laminated film of the present invention, thus significantly improving optical efficiency and adhesion performance. Therefore, a liquid crystal display device employing the brightness enhancement film of the present invention is provided with remarkably improved brightness.
