The shape of the outer perimeter and the contours of the edges and underside allow a user to grip the seat from various angles and hand positions. The seat and gripping areas are substantially coplanar or elevated by a gradual contour, providing a stable surface for supporting a user's weight and facilitating unobstructed horizontal transfer from a wheelchair. The gripping surfaces are free from holes, thus reducing entrapment risks and injury if a user were to fall. Multiple handholds reduce falling risks. The forward periphery is substantially narrower than the rear periphery, providing a broad rear transfer surface while also permitting close approach of the seat by a wheelchair. This configuration further allows a standing person to straddle the seat and brace their weight before bending their knees to lower themselves onto the seat surface (101).

The seating angle is controllable due to a lid (3) that is attached to the bowl (2), at the furthest front end thereof, by a hinge (4). Said lid has a vertical default position for receiving the user by the buttocks or the bottom of the thighs. The lid (3) is supported from below by two dashpots (7), the fluid flow of which is controlled by means of controlling elements that are preferably present on the armrests (34). The flow control makes it possible to control the speed of the lowering movement, or to stop at the desired level so as to bring the user into a seated, squatting, or even forward-leaning position. Said lid fits into said top edge (13) of the bowl, and just in the middle of the curvature thereof, corresponding to the furthest front end, a faucet (15), which is either a self-closing faucet (153#) or preferably an infrared sensor faucet (15*), is optionally installed so as to provide the water needed for cleaning. Below the two arms (32) of said lid (3), two hot air generators (37) are also arranged so as to dry the private parts after cleaning, and two armrests (34) are attached to the lid at both sides thereof.
