摘要： The present invention relates to a packaged product for dispensing a liquid, comprising a liquid-containing reservoir and a porous membrane, the reservoir comprising an outlet, wherein the membrane is hermetically sealed to or around the reservoir so that fluid passing through the outlet must pass across the membrane, and in that the combination of the liquid and the membrane results in a bubble point greater than 1 kPa, when measured at ambient temperature and pressure using the packaged liquid. The invention also relates to a device for dispensing a liquid, comprising a liquid reservoir and a porous membrane, the reservoir comprising an outlet, wherein the membrane is hermetically sealed to or around the reservoir so that fluid passing through the outlet must pass across the membrane, and wherein the membrane has an average pore size of from 1 to 100 micrometers and a thickness of less than 1mm.

摘要： The present invention provides an absorbent article such as a diaper, a training pant, an adult incontinence article, a bed mat, or the like which is capable of rapidly transporting urine away from its acquisition zone. In particular, the absorbent article stores a fraction of the acquired liquid outside of its acquisition region which remains relatively unchanged between 20 percent and 100 percent load of the article. The present invention further provides a process for handling urine in the absorbent article which comprises a step of transporting a relatively constant fraction of the acquired liquid away from the acquisition zone of the article.

摘要： An absorbent pack (20) for absoring body fluids is provided. The absorbent pack includes an absorbent member (24), and an enclosure assembly (60) that surrounds the absorbent member. Apertures are formed in the enclosure member (60) to permit body fluid to pass therethrough, and be absorbed by the absorbent member (24). The enclosure assembly is made of a material that avoids unwanted adherence between the absorbent pack, and a patient's skin or other body tissue. The enclosure assembly has a size to allow the absorbent member to expand without being impeded when it absorbs body fluid. A retention member (80) can be joined to an anterior end of the absorbent member to assist in the removal of the absorbent pack from a body cavity. A cap member (76) can be joined to the anterior end in order to avoid the possibility of separation of the anterior end from remaining portions of the absorbent member when the absorbent pack is removed from a body cavity. A radiopaque marker (84) can also be utilized as part of the absorbent pack in any case where it is necessary to locate the absorbent pack using an x-ray image.

摘要： Laminated surgical sponge made of compressed textile fibers which is mainly used in neurological surgery such as brain or spine operations for absorption of body fluids or protection of tissues and other body members. The sponge is very flexible and easily conforms to the tissue contours on which it is placed and it remains in place with no tendency to return to its original shape. This sponge is characterized in that the outer layer is made of a porous plastic material which prevents the sponge from adhering to the tissue and avoids tearing the tissue when removed. The sponge may contain an X-Ray detectable member and a string attached to it for easy identification.
