    • A multi-cyclone dust separating apparatus comprises a housing with an air inflow port, an air outflow port separate from the air inflow port and an air flow channel extending in an air flow direction from the air inflow port to the air outflow port. The apparatus further comprises a plurality of cyclones arranged in a matrix arrangement and in the air flow channel. Each cyclone comprises a cylindrical portion defining an inside vortex space. The cylindrical portion has a top end and a lower end. A conical portion contiguous to the lower end has a dust opening at its bottom. An air inlet is arranged tangentially with regard to the cylindrical portion and opens in the inside vortex space. The air inlet has an effective air passage surface area. An air outlet tube having an air outlet passage is arranged at the top end of the cylindrical portion and extends into the inside vortex space. The plurality of cyclones comprises at least one module of cyclones, which comprises a top module plate to which a number of cyclones is connected to. The top module plate comprises through going air passages, each communicating with a respective air outlet tube. The air passage surface areas of the air inlets of all the cyclones of the number of cyclones of said at least one module are at least approximately identical.

    • Cross-flow filtration systems and corresponding methods for separation particulate matter from liquids. A representative system includes a cross-flow filtration zone (24) in fluid communication with a particulate settling zone (30) and further includes a fluid inlet (14) in fluid communication with one of the zones and a process fluid outlet (20) and in fluid communication with the other zone. A fluid treatment pathway (28) extends from the fluid inlet (14), through the cross-flow filtration and particulate settling zones (24, 30) to the process fluid outlet (20). A filter assembly (26) is located within the cross-flow filtration zone (24) and comprises a membrane surface (44) that isolates a filtrate chamber (46) from the fluid treatment pathway (28), and the filtrate chamber (46) is in fluid communication with a filtered fluid outlet (16). A recirculation pump (Z) in fluid communication with the process fluid outlet (20) and fluid inlet (14). A pressurizable recirculation loop (A) comprises the fluid treatment pathway (28) and recirculation pump (Z) and the recirculation pump (Z) is adapted for driving pressurized through the recirculation loop (A). A feed pump (Y) is adapted to introduce feed liquid into the system (10); and an effluent outlet (18) in fluid communication with the particulate settling zone (30). The feed pump (Y), effluent outlet (18) and filtered fluid outlet (16) reside outside of the recirculation loop (A).

    • The distillation-power unit (4) of a distillery/refinery (1) consists of a radial flow steam driven ducted impeller (71) which is driven by steam released from bubbles coming on the surface of liquid for distillation contained in a cyclone conical container (13, 70) and multi-stage axial flow bubble driven ducted impeller (72) which is driven by bubbles of saturated steam ascending from the heated bottom of container (13, 70). Exhaust steam is condensed inside the top cap/fan casing (10) of steam driven impeller (72). Vapor from the cap/fan casing (10) is delivered to the condensation unit (5) where it is condensed into fuel for supplying a burner which burns fuel and heats the bottom of container (70). Non-condensed gases returns into the distillation-power unit (4).
