摘要： The invention relates to technology of data communication Broad Band network, which discloses a method for redialing quickly to the Broad Band network of users. By this method, firstly the Broad Band access server checks whether the user is on-line when receives the dialing request of the Broad Band network users, if so, releasing the on-line resources allocated previously for the user, and performing the user on-line process again. Further, there are two improvements that it enhances a purview for checking whether the user is allowed to redial quickly, and another is which a user security checking is enhanced. In one aspect of the present invention, credentials are received from a user, the credentials including a user identification and a password. In one embodiment, a network adapter has a microengine which obtains read target data from a cache coupled to the network adapter to respond to a read command packaged in a packet sent by an initiator over a network. If the network adapter cache does not have the target data addressed by the read command, the read command is forwarded to a target controller coupled to a storage unit to process the read command.

摘要： A communications apparatus includes a router (10), a network address translator (12) and a connection controller (11). The connection controller (11) governs the connection from LAN (1) to other networks such as the Internet. The LAN serves a number of terminals (2 to 7). in the event that the connection controller determines that the link to a particular LAN is not used it will enter a short term hold process. After a predetermined time has elapsed the connection is broken. However, the short term hold process can be circumvented by the network translator maintaining a record of the terminal use (or more particularly a port serving an application on the terminal). In the event that all the terminals are determined as not in use then a message is sent to the connection controller 11 indicating such and the connection is released. This avoids unnecessary connection cost and also enhances security of the LAN 1.

摘要： An adaptive feedback technique is described for a Mobile IP environment in which Mobile IP mechanisms provide early feedback to mechanisms in the transport layer and/or application layer of a mobile node in response to detection of changes in link characteristics of the communication used by the mobile node to communicate with a data network.
