    • A pulling tool for use in a pipe or wellbore has a motor (3) connected to several hydraulically activated levers (5) for forcing drive wheels (4) against an inner surface of the wellbore. A coupling device (2), disposed between the motor (3) and levers (5), has an incoming shaft (12) with sloping surfaces (25) at the end. An outgoing shaft (15) has rollers (24) distributed on an adapter (17) at its end, such that the rollers (24) engage the sloping surfaces (25) on the incoming shaft (12). When a torque is applied to the incoming shaft, a relative rotation between the incoming shaft (12) and outgoing shaft (15) causes an axial displacement of the adapter (17). This axial displacement controls, pistons providing a hydraulic pressure. forcing the levers (5) outwards, thus forcing the wheels (4) against the inner surface of the pipe or wellbore.

    • An electrically powered and controlled tractor system includes one or more electric gripper assemblies (20) and one or more electric power train assemblies (30).     • A fluid conduit sheath (18) for a wellbore tractor (10) can provide transportation of a working fluid external to a wellbore tractor in a downhole environment. The fluid conduit sheath can further provide cooling to electrical devices in the wellbore tractor. The fluid conduit sheath can be configured to be disposed around the body (12) of the wellbore tractor, defining a fluid conduit (22) between the sheath and the wellbore tractor. Spacers (36) can be used to maintain the position of the sheath relative to the tractor and also to couple the tractor to the sheath. The fluid conduit sheath can be advantageous in tractors whose internal components substantially preclude the use of an internal fluid conduit, such as tractors with electrically-actuated grippers.

Aft and forward sequence valves 314, 316 may be provided for controlling the propulsion control valve 310 by detecting when the gripper assemblies become fully actuated. Furthermore, a pressure relief valve 306 is preferably provided along an input supply line 302, 352 for limiting the pressure of the fluid entering the valve control assembly 102.

There is further included a plurality of flexible cups (24), spaced apart along the outer wall of the pig body (25), each cup (24) secured to an interior metallic ring (26) around the body (25) of the pig, with the flexible cups (24) making contact with the wall (13) of the pipeline so as to provide a continuous fluid seal between the wall (13) of the pipeline and the ends of the plurality of flexible cups (24). Intermediate each cup (24) there is provided a compressible safety ring (28), which will compress under excess pipeline pressure, thus allowing the fluid to flow past the plurality of flexible cups (24), reducing the pressure in the pipeline. Further there is provided within the plurality of six flow bores (40) around the interior flow bore (34), for adjusting the force that is allowed to flow through the plurality of bores (40) in either direction by providing a first and second thruster springs (42, 44) of a pre-determined compressible force for allowing the springs (42,44) to be compressed and effecting fluid flow therethrough in the direction in which the flow is to travel in the bores (40).
