摘要： The present invention provides in one aspect for a method for controlling odor associated with spills of organic material which can cause odors on carpets. The method comprises applying to the carpet a preparation of dormant bacteria, which when activated are effective to control odors. The dormant bacterial preparation is allowed to become associated with the carpet, such that when the carpet is exposed to organic material which can cause odors, the bacteria are capable of becoming active and digesting the organic material. The formulation may contain other agents such as odor neutralizing or masking agents, enzymes, foaming or anti-foaming agents.

摘要： An air freshening composition including porous carrier particles having a perfume composition entrapped therein, and a second component selected from an inert filer, hygroscopic agent, binder, coating material, moisture providing agent, and mixtures thereof. The composition may further comprise various optional components such as free perfumes, colorants, disintegrants, water swelling agents, porosity modifiers and mixtures thereof. A method for processing the compositions into a solid article includes the steps of entrapping a perfume in the porous carrier particles, heating and incorporating a carrier or binder material. The compositions may be further processed by optionally incorporating a powder inert filler and forming articles from the mixture. The articles may be formed from the compositions through prilling, extrusion, or compaction amongst other techniques. The air freshening articles and compositions will provide a sustained and controlled release of the perfume compositions over a long period of time without the use of a heat to activate the release. Articles of manufacture including the air freshening articles and various packaging are also disclosed.

摘要： A method of reducing malodours in an environment, particularly an enclosed public environment subject to heavy usage and intense pedestrian traffic, comprises applying to the floor of the environment a floor treatment composition comprising a carrier and perfume-containing microcapsules, the microcapsules being rupturable to release the perfume contents. Perfume is only released when the microcapsules are ruptured by mechanical action, e.g. by being walked on, leading to release of perfume in response to use over an extended period. The length of the extended period depends on factors including the level of usage, but even in environments of heavy usage, the extended period can be several days. Also disclosed is a floor treatment composition including an anti-static agent.
