The latch member includes a finger actuation portion (92) and an integrally formed body portion (96) having a free end. In one embodiment, the latch member is pivotally coupled to the actuator. In an inoperative position, the free end of the latch member is aligned with a blocking surface (104) of the lighter body, preventing inadvertent lighting. In an operative position, the free end of the latch member is pivoted out of alignment with the blocking surface so that the lighter can function. During pivoting, as the finger actuation portion moves in a forward direction, the free end moves in a rearward direction. The latch member may be disposed on the rear wall of the actuator or in a longitudinally extending channel in the actuator.

摘要： In a prior art lighter case, the thumb is brought into contact with a windshield member through a large window provided in a side wall of the lighter case, and the windshield member is vertically operated. Therefore, the finger is sometimes burnt carelessly, and difficulty is caused in patterning the lighter case. The present invention provides a windshield-carrying lighter case capable of solving these problems. A lighter case according to the present invention consists of a semicylindrical windshield member (2) housed slidably in a holder member (6) on the inner surface of a case body (1), a vertical slot (7) provided in a side wall of the holder member (6), and an operating button (3) inserted through the slot (7) and fitted firmly into a hole (10) in the windshield member (2). A material (B) having temperature-indicating characteristics is printed, applied or pasted to or with the outer surface of the windshield member (8). Owing to the above-described construction, the operating button (3) may be moved vertically along the slot (7) by using the thumb for operating the windshield (2). When the lighter is ignited, the pattern consisting of the material (B) having temperature-indicating characteristics arouses the user's interest.

The present invention relates to a gas igniter using a disposable lighter, the gas igniter having a disposable lighter placed inside the case, and the trigger and the link member connected so that the link member undergoes a linear reciprocating motion by means of the rotational motion of the trigger, at which time the pressing part of the link member presses the ignition button of the disposable lighter by being disposed so as to come into contact with the ignition button, thereby igniting the disposable lighter, thus enabling a flame to erupt from the eruption hole on the case, and such series of operations is enabled by a simple mechanical structure, and thus the gas igniter using a disposable lighter may not only be easily manufactured, but also the manufacturing costs thereof are low, and thus economic efficiency may be increased.
