For that purpose, at least one pressure-divider (14, 15; 17, 18) with a central take-off point (16; 19) is provided, which is supplied by a pressure difference between inlet (4) and outlet (5), the pressure at the central take-off point (15, 19) controlling the flow rate through the second throttling device (11).

    • The invention relates to a device for actuating the control valve (14) of a hydraulic servo steering system for motor vehicles in which the rotary movement of a steering wheel is transmitted via a control shaft (2) and the steering moment is transmitted via a relative rotation between the control shaft (2) and a pinion shaft (4) and whereby the control valve (14) is a linear slide valve. It is the purpose of the invention to provide a simple device with few components. This is achieved in that there is a sleeve (6) surrounding the control shaft (2) and the pinion shaft (4) which converts the relative rotation between the two shafts into an axial shift owing to the fact that the sleeve (6) has a pair of axially and spirally running connecting link guides (7, 8) with which engage a pair of pins (9, 10) which are solidly secured to the control shaft (2) or the pinion shaft (4). Further embodiments of the invention concern particularly compact or low-friction arrangements. In order to compensate all actuating clearances, it is proposed in an important further embodiment of the invention to fit a prestressing spring (36) to the valve slide (12).

For that purpose, the control device (9) changes the amplification factor of the flow amplifier (4).
