摘要： An adsorbent free from dusting and derived from an adsorbent substance. It comprises an adsorbent substance, such as activated carbon, and a porous coating layer deposited thereon which is made of a polymeric substance. The porous coating layer is formed by spray-coating the adsorbent substance with a suspension or solution of the polymeric substance or by immersing the adsorbent substance in the suspension or solution. The polymeric substance is preferably a fluororesin, polyamide resin, polyimide resin, polyester resin, polystyrene resin, polyolefin resin, polycarbonate resin, polysulfone resin, acrylic resin, cellulosic resin, vinyl chloride resin, polyacetal resin, or polyurethane resin. The adsorbent is usable as a material for indoor-space cleaning, in a method for air cleaning, in an air cleaner, or as a material for cleaning the gas enclosed in pair glasses, drying material for organic solvents, adsorbent for hard-disk drives, or material for freshness retention. Also provided is a moisture-regulating material for spaces which comprises a moisture-regulating substance such as sodium sulfate and, deposited thereon, a porous coating layer made of a polymeric substance and which has excellent long-lasting performance with respect to moisture absorption/release.

摘要： A low cost, water resistant, rugged and enclosed portable digital data storage device is provided. A two piece enclosure includes a monolithic housing and a cover, both preferably metallic. A passageway is formed in a side wall of the enclosure for plugging an external power and data line into an internal connector which extends into or adjacent the passageway. A liquid water resistant epoxy is applied over the internal connector and adjacent the passageway prior to applying the cover. The result is a low cost, water resistant enclosure with water resistant passageway for power and data lines that remains water resistant whether the external power and data lines are connected to the digital data storage device or not. A fire resistant docking station is also provided, into which the portable data storage device may be easily connected to a primary computer for transferring data.

摘要： A fire-resistant case for protecting electronic storage media includes a main body (10) and lid (12), each of which is assembled from a pair of subassemblies (14, 16 and 34, 36). The foam insulation (22) is formed as a self-skinning foam for forming a part of an inner seal (24) between the main body and lid. An inner subassembly (34) of the lid is constructed in a variety of ways consistent with the purposes of the other named layers of the case.
