摘要： An inkjet nozzle assembly having: a nozzle chamber for containing ink, the nozzle chamber including a floor and a roof having a nozzle opening defined therein; and a plurality of moveable paddles defining part of the roof. The plurality of paddles are actuable to cause ejection of an ink droplet from the nozzle opening. Each paddle includes a thermal bend actuator, and each actuator is independently controllable via respective drive circuitry such that a direction of droplet ejection from the nozzle opening is controllable by independent movement of each paddle.

A second layer (46) of photoresist material of a second type is deposited over the cured and uncured areas of the first type of photoresist material and then exposed to provide uncured areas representing the orifices (41) from which the ink is to be ejected and cured areas comprising channel walls for the ink channels. The second layer is developed with a first developer suitable for developing the second layer but not suitable for developing the first layer. The undeveloped material in the first layer is removed to form the ink channels with orifices.

摘要： A method of fabricating a printhead having a hydrophobic ink ejection face is provided. The method comprises the steps of: (a) providing a partially-fabricated printhead comprising a plurality of nozzle chambers and a relatively hydrophilic nozzle surface, the nozzle surface at least partially defining the ink ejection face; (b) depositing a layer of relatively hydrophobic polymeric material onto the nozzle surface, the polymeric material being resistant to removal by ashing; and (c) defining a plurality of nozzle openings in the nozzle surface, thereby providing a printhead having a relatively hydrophobic ink ejection face. Steps (b) and (c) may be performed in any order.

摘要： A liquid drop ejector includes a substrate (1) and a plurality of liquid chambers (36). Portions of the substrate define a liquid supply (3). Each liquid chamber is positioned over the substrate and includes a nozzle plate and a chamber wall. The nozzle plate and the chamber wall include an inorganic material (44). The inorganic material of the nozzle plate and the chamber wall is contactable with liquid when liquid is present in each liquid chamber. A region of organic material (40) is positioned over the substrate and located relative to the nozzle plate and the chamber wall such that the region of organic material is not contactable with liquid when liquid is present in each liquid chamber. The region of organic material is bounded by chamber walls of neighboring liquid chambers located on opposite sides of the liquid supply.
