摘要： The invention relates to a multilingual operation and maintenance interface for a telecommunication exchange. In the operation and maintenance unit (OMU) of the exchange, by means of which the exchange is controlled via an external device (5), a man-machine language (MML) software (1) is formed of command groups encoded into program modules. All the alphanumeric information related to the interactive communication with the operation and maintenance interface is separated from the actual program code as resource files (2a, 2b) in different languages. At least one resource file (2c) is an intermediate language file containing intermediate language information, which is not alphanumeric information. The intermediate language information may comprise search keys by means of which the alphanumeric information may be retrieved from the text database created by the operator himself, or it may be control codes created by the operator, so that the command response of the exchange is suitable as thus for example for processing performed by a separate network management computer.
