摘要： A private telephone line expander is disclosed which receives two analog voice inputs. Both input signals are digitized, compressed using full period splicing, and converted back to analog for transmission. One is shifted to the upper half of the telephone line bandwidth. The other remains in the lower half. Both are transmitted on the same telephone line. When received both signals are expanded to normal telephone bandwidth and can be connected to two different telephones. DTMF signals are transmitted with each voice transmission.

摘要： There is provided an improved subscriber carrier system which enables the transmission of both voice frequencies and carrier frequencies by a common line without the need for a battery at the subscriber carrier terminal to supply power for the subscriber carrier electronics. A high voltage power supply is utilized to supply power, both for the voice frequency terminal and the subscriber carrier terminal. Loop supervision circuitry is isolated from the power supply. Ringing signals are detected and regenerated at a frequency to pass through the isolation circuit.

摘要： Selective ringing for two subscribers who share a single channel in a subscriber carrier telephone system. The ringers at the subscribers'' subsets are connected respectively between ground and the ring lead for one subscriber and between ground and the tip lead for the other subscriber. When the central office switching equipment applies a ring signal between its outgoing tip lead and ground, the terminal equipment at the central office transmits both the ring signal and a 1.1 kHz. tip identification signal on the outbound carrier signal. The terminal equipment at the subscriber end of the line detects the identification signal and operates a relay in response to it to cause the output of the ''''ring'''' amplifier to be applied between the tip lead and ground. In the absence of the identification signal, the output of the ''''ring'''' amplifier is applied between the ring lead and ground.
