    • A protection mechanism includes a first member connected to a switch member pivotably connected to an open top of a case so as to lift a bimetallic plate when the switch device is set to an “OFF” status, and a second member that is pivotably connected to an extension board extending form the switch member. The second member is located above the bimetallic plate and pushes the bimetallic plate downward to set the switch device to an “ON” status. The second member can be pivoted counter clockwise when the bimetallic plate is deformed upward and will not stop the deformation of the bimetallic plate.

    • A circuit breaker includes a bimetallic plate that has a first end fixed to one terminal and a second end which can be lowered to contact the other terminal by pushing the pushbutton on top of the case of the breaker. The second end of the bimetallic plate is movably supported in a slot of a support member that is connected to an end of the pushbutton and is movable along an inclined surface of a protrusion in the case. The slot has a shorter upper edge so that when the support plate is shifted to a side when the pushbutton is set to its close-circuit position, the second end of the bimetallic plate can be deformed upward without any barrier by the upper edge of the slot.

    • A switch breaker includes having a body; a press button having a link; a metal sheet having an electrical contact; a elastic member; a first terminal having a point contact; a second terminal; and a cover, characterized in that a protrudent part is formed on a suitable place on the metal sheet. After one end of the press button is pressed, the insulator does not push the protrudent part of the metal sheet so that the electrical contact contacts the point contact and the switch breaker is at a conducting state. When the current load is too large and the metal sheet is too hot and bent, or when the other end of the press button is pressed and the insulator pushes the protrudent part, the electrical contact is separated from the point contact and the switch breaker is at a nonconducting state. The design of pushing the protrudent part backward by the insulator to move the left end of the metal sheet backward can prevent the occurrence of arc between the electrical contact and the point contact. Further, because the insulator presses the protrudent part and does not contact the electrical contact and point contact, the electrical contact and point contact are not worn away. Therefore, the life of the switch breaker is extended.

    • In a single housing that looks like a standard rocker switch a thermally responsive movable contact element is mechanically opened by the rocker in a "switch" mode, or opened in response to an overcurrent condition in a circuit protection mode. Both conditions result in a trip flag being moved between the movable and a fixed contact. The trip flag rests lightly on the movable contact when the device is ON and during reset motion the trip flag is so mounted in the switch case that it reaches such a reset position only after the movable contact has returned to its ON or closed condition. The rocker has skirts that define cam teeth cooperable with cam teeth on the trip flag. The housing defines slots for receiving projecting portions of the trip flag to define a movable pivot for the trip flag to so reduce the forces and/or moments of the trip flag as it "rests" on the movable contact.

    • A two pole breaker employs molded resinous parts including a base and support frame structure. Supported to a medial plane frame by a pin is a rocker handle having a linkage crank arm at each side of the medial plane and a rotatable latch lever having trip surfaces accessible to a bi-metallic overload actuator of each pole. A rocker member generally transverse to the normal position of the latch lever has a latch surface which cooperates with a latch keeper on the latch lever which is held engaged by a spring between the latch lever and the medial plane. The rocker has parallel side members, each supporting a switch actuator surface on each side of the medial plane frame. Identical linkage connections on each side of the medial plane connect the crank arms to the respective side pieces of the rocker. Overload causes a bi-metal actuator to move the latch lever in opposition to its spring to release the rocker to a position to which the guide slot directs it allowing the contacts to open and moving the handle and linkage pins to a position where they are moved back over center. The handle movement pulls the rocker back up into position to relatch with the latch lever, moving the latch lever out of the way against the action of the spring, if needed.
