摘要： A server box embodiment is disclosed that generally comprises an array of dummy HDDs that share a common set of universal disk drive components in a master components module, or power module. Each dummy HDDs is constructed without expensive onboard chipsets that control the normal functionality of a standard HDD. By sharing expensive chipsets in a master components module (power module) money can be saved in building and selling the dummy HDD server. Embodiments envision a power module possessing the needed chipset functionality that is missing in a dummy HDD. The power module can be made to move from dummy HDD to dummy HDD supplying the necessary chipset in a shared manner when data is being stored or retrieved for client or end-user.

摘要： A foldable portable electronic device, a system and a method for protecting a built-in hard disk thereof are disclosed. The foldable portable electronic device includes a display and a main body. The system includes a trigger, a lid switch, and a logic judgment module. When the foldable portable electronic device is away form a flat surface, the trigger generates a first signal; when the display is folded onto the main body, the lid switch generates a second signal. The logic judgment module determines the method to control and protect the hard disk in accordance with the first signal and the second signal.

摘要： A multimedia optical disc includes a lot of blocks each of which stores moving picture data, audio data, sub-picture data, and control information. Each piece of moving picture data, audio data, sub-picture data, and control information in the same block has the same reproduction time limit. Each piece of control information includes a mask flag indicating whether to mask a key interrupt requesting a special reproduction such as fast forward, the key interrupt being generated by the user by pressing a key on a remote controller and the like. The mask flag is effective for the key interrupt generated during the reproduction time limit stored in the control information.

摘要： A toy phonograph comprises means for pressing a pickup arm into engagement with a phonograph record for reproducing recorded sound from the phonograph record playing surface during rotation thereof. The sound is picked up from a sound reproducing groove in the playing surface by direct resilient contact of a speaker cone assembly with the pickup arm. The speaker cone assembly includes a lift bar containing an aperture adjacent the end of the recording with a protrusion on the pickup arm being received in the aperture as the pickup arm reaches the end of the recording. The drive means for the turntable has an associated electrical contact located between the phonograph record playing surface and the lift bar. When the protrusion is received in the lift bar aperture, the lift bar drops a sufficient amount to engage a leaf spring contact which is normally biased to a closed circuit condition to open the circuit and thus shut off the drive means. Two records may be provided on opposite sides of a common turntable with two separate identical means connected in parallel so that the common turntable may be driven if either of the respective pickup arm protrusions is not received in its respective lift bar aperture. The device may function as a talking toy bank responsive to insertion of a coin.
