摘要： Systems and methods are presented for a timing device. The timing device includes a first electrode, a second electrode, and an electrolyte. The electrolyte includes a material selected such that an electrodeposit forms on the first electrode when a current is applied between the first electrode and the second electrode. A measurable electrical characteristic of the timing device is indicative of a time-dependent degree of growth of the electrodeposit between the first electrode and the second electrode.

In the embodiment, the time reference device, includes a corrodible element, wherein a corrosion of the corrodible element advances with advancing time, and a sensor configured for providing a sensor signal, the sensor signal depending on a physical property of the corrodible element; wherein the physical property of the corrodible element changes with a corrosion of the corrodible element and the physical property of the corrodible element is at least one of an electrical property, a magnetic property, and an optical property. A barrier may be provided for defining a permeability for a corrosive substance to the corrodible element.

In a first aspect, the method comprises determining a vertical calibration vector and determining a rotation matrix using the vertical calibration vector to line up native axes of the wireless sensor device with body axes. In a second aspect, a wireless sensor device comprises a processor and a memory device coupled to the processor, wherein the memory device includes an application that, when executed by the processor, causes the processor to determine a vertical calibration vector and to determine a rotation matrix using the vertical calibration vector to line up native axes of the wireless sensor device with body axes.

摘要： A timing device comprises a sensing material and/or a component which is sensitive to the presence of an environmental attribute. The environmental attribute drives and speeds up or slows the timing device as the concentration of the attribute increases or decreases, respectively. Alternatively, the timing device is activated upon sensing the presence of the environmental attribute and indicates a total passage of time from exposure/activation of the timing device. Particularly, sensing materials of varying types are able to be used to indicate exposure to a variety of substances. For example, in some embodiments, the timing device comprises a sensing material which is sensitive to the presence of ultraviolet radiation. Alternatively, the sensing material is sensitive to other variables such as x-ray radiation and nuclear radiation. In further embodiments, the sensing material is sensitive to biological or physical contamination.

摘要： An identification badge comprises a base coated with an adhesive protected by release paper. This badge is assembled by removing the release paper, placing an identification card into contact with the adhesive, and then attaching a fastener through a slot in the base of the badge. Various fasteners may be used to attach this badge to wearer's apparel. The badge can be assembled without damaging the identification card or the identification indicia, contained therein. The identification card can also be mounted so that the identification indicia is placed against a transparent, adhesive and viewed through a transparent base. In this embodiment, the information placed on the identification card cannot be altered without damaging the identification card. Also in this embodiment, a timing indicator can be incorporated into the badge so as to show the expiration of the badge after a selected period of time. The identification badge can be easily assembled at the site of use, and it can be cut to fit whatever identification indicia that is to be applied to it, such as business cards, photo-identification cards or the like.

In one aspect, a method includes utilizing a wireless sensor device to obtain a plurality of acceleration samples in relation to at least one axis associated with a person's body over a predetermined time window. The method also includes calculating a polar angle for each acceleration sample within the predetermined time window. The method also includes calculating a fraction of an amount of time within the predetermined time window that the polar angle is greater than an angle threshold that indicates that the person is lying down, where if the fraction is greater than a predetermined threshold, the predetermined time window is marked as a period the person is lying down.

The timing device and system, in accordance with the embodiments of the invention, comprise an electrochemical component which generates a visual and/or audio indication of the passage of time. The compensating element regulates the response of the device with respect to changes in temperature. The timing device is configured to indicate the passage of a single duration of time or comprises zones that are activated in a range of prescribed times and individually or collectively indicate the passage of time or the passage of a range of times.
