    • A projector automation system for controlling one or more controlled systems having functionality that is responsive at least in part to automation control signals. The automation system interacts with a digital projector having a control port and a film projector having a cue sensor that generates cue signals. A film-based cinema automation component receives the cue signals and generate at least some of the automation control signals to the one or more controlled systems. A second cinema automation component has a first interface coupled to the control port of the digital projector and the first cinema automation system. The second cinema automation component includes means for generating at least some of the automation control signals to the one or more controlled systems either autonomously, semi-autonomously, or in response to commands from an external scheduling system.

    • In one embodiment, a system is provided for increasing image information storage capacity within available media involving a film camera capture. The system comprises a strip of photographic emulsion bearing media having at least two surfaces, and wherein two of the at least two surfaces are provided with emulsion. A camera is provided that has a lens, wherein the camera exposes aspects of a lens gathered image on the two surfaces of the photographic emulsion bearing media, and further wherein at least light is gathered and relayed by a lens image relaying device. A processor is further provided for processing the photographic emulsion bearing media, and an imaging device is included for providing electronic image data representing image information from the photographic emulsion bearing media.

    • A reel brake device of a deck in a camera-integrated type video cassette recorder system, comprising a pinch arm having an extension extending downwardly from one side portion of the pinch arm, a first lever connected operatively to the pinch arm and a second lever connected operatively to the first lever and provided with a felt for applying a brake force to a take-up reel. A torsion spring is disposed between the first lever and the second lever to urge the first lever and the second lever away from each other. Pivotal movement of the pinch arm causes the first lever to move pivotally, so that the second lever moves pivotally by virtue of the torsion spring to make the felt come into pressing contact with the take-up reel. In order to compress the torsion spring and thus increase the brake force applied to the take-up reel by the felt, the first lever and the second lever have a pin and a cam slot receiving the pin, respectively.

The inner coil preferably rotates faster than the outer coil and is played out completely so that new inner coils are formed from time to time by infeed from the outer coil(s).

    • A pair of signals optically different in consistency is placed on an image information recording film to be projected. A projector is provided with at least a pair of light detection elements in a position where signals may be detected. The difference between outputs from the elements is utilized as a detection signal. The above-described signals are detected by way of an ordinary speed of the film so as to automatically switch the projection mode thereof to other projection modes, such as a still projection mode, a slow motion projection mode, a fading projection mode, and still projection mode for the search and after the search. For this purpose there are provided with a control circuit for processing the output of the detection element and a drive mechanism for providing the respective projection mode in response to the output signal from the control circuit.
