摘要： A self-glowing solid material comprises a man-made metal mixture containing at least one rare earth metal and an oxide of iron. The material is inducible by flame initiation to self-glow with yellow-to-red colors (577-to-700 nanometer wavelengths). A stealth tracer ammunition comprises a projectile body having a tip and a base, and a solid pellet disposed in the base. The pellet may be made from the above-mentioned self-glowing solid material or another suitable material. The pellet becomes incandescent as a result of being heated when the ammunition is fired. The incandescent pellet emits a glow observable only from behind when the ammunition travels downrange after being fired. An illuminant comprises a bimodal blend of a man-made metal mixture containing at least one rare earth metal and an oxide of iron. The bimodal blend is a blend of smaller-sized fragments and larger-sized pellets. The illuminant is capable of ignition and dispersion in response to ballistic energy to create illumination. An illumination device comprises a body having an interior cavity, the body configured to be launched as a projectile or configured to contain projectiles. An illuminant is disposed in the cavity, the illuminant comprising a bimodal blend of a suitable illuminant material. The illuminant is capable of ignition and dispersion in response to ballistic energy to create illumination.

摘要： The invention relates to a weapon intended for fighting games, mainly for paintball, namely to special cartridges containing painting liquid. The special cartridge contains a cartridge case 1 that includes a propellant charge 2, a projectile 3 and a primer cap 4. The cartridge case 1 has inside a rigidly fixed nozzle 5 (variants 1, 3) for supplying a portion of the gas stream at the projectile 3 or a solid partition 7 (variant 2). The cylindrical cartridge case body 1 is provided with holes 6 on the side of the primer cap 4 that are intended to direct the gas flow (variants 1-3); in addition, the mouth of the cartridge case is also provided with holes 8 for directing the gas flow (variants 2, 3). The areas of the holes of the nozzle 5 and the total surfaces of the holes 6 and 8 are of different size. To carry out firing process, the primer cap 4 is impacted, which ignites the propellant charge 2; the larger portion of the gas stream formed during combustion of the propellant is directed through the holes 6 in the weapon bore, thus creating a main effect of shot (sound, flame). The lesser gas stream formed by combustion of the propellant charge 2 is directed to the projectile 3 and imparts to it the required acceleration, while maintaining the integrity of its shape and volume. The projectile 3 is made as a tagging one; a bead that is identical to that used in a paintball game can be used as such a projectile. Furthermore, the projectile 3 is designed as a container, inside which any filler, for example, an antiseptic agent, can be located.

The tracer cylinder, which contains a liquid, is positioned in a shotgun shell above a disk-shaped piercing valve. The shell is loaded into a shotgun and fired. The forces of ignition cause the point on the piercing valve to puncture the bottom of the cylinder, and, when the cylinder is airborne, tracer liquid is released through the resulting opening by physical forces, creating a long-lasting mist or fog cloud that is visible to the shooter. The shooter is provided with a consistent and durable reference, allowing him or her to make effective corrections to his or her shooting technique. The tracer cylinder can be loaded into a shot holder, with or without shot pellets.

The flechettes have elongate solid bodies centered about a longitudinal axis, the bodies tapering from a waist to both forward end and rearward end. The waists of the flechettes are closer to the forward end than to the rearward end so that the flechettes' centers of gravity are closer to the forward ends than the rearward ends. The flechettes may have regular polygonal cross sections or essentially regular polygonal cross sections wherein the flechettes define fins along their bodies. Packing arrangements of the flechettes within ammunition cartridges are also shown.
