    • A reduced friction firearm component that is movably mounted within a firearm wherein that is configured to slidably engage an adjacent element with reduced friction. The reduced friction firearm component further includes a body that is cylindrical in shape. The body includes an exterior surface and further includes a first end and a second end. Formed within the exterior surface of the body are a plurality of grooves. The plurality of grooves extend inward along said body from said first end and said second end. Rotatably mounted within said plurality of grooves are a multitude of ball bearings. A fastener is secured proximate the first end of each of said plurality of grooves that is operable to retain the multitude of ball bearings within said plurality of grooves. The ball bearings function to provide the only point of contact intermediate the reduced friction firearm component and an adjacent element.

    • A semi-automatic or automatic rifle is provided the rifle having: a receiver having a hand guard portion; a barrel having a bore, the bore removably connected to the receiver, the hand guard portion surrounding at least a portion of the barrel; a gas block having a forward end and a rearward end aligned with the barrel; a sleeve removably secured to the forward end of the gas block; a piston slidably received within the gas block, wherein the gas block and the sleeve fluidly couple the piston to the bore of the barrel; wherein an increase in pressure in the bore of the barrel causes the piston to move away from the sleeve; and wherein the sleeve and the piston are each capable of being removed from the rifle through the forward end of the gas block without removing the gas block from the rifle.

    • The present invention comprises a self-actuating blow forward firearm having a fixed breech block located to the rear of the firearm. A cartridge feeder provides a supply of cartridges to the loading area so that the firearm can be used as an automatic or semi-automatic weapon. The firearm also contains an outer receiver tube and a movable inner gun barrel which is biased toward the rear of the firearm by a spring disposed in a chamber between the receiver tube and the inner movable barrel. When the trigger mechanism is activated, the action of the bias spring causes the inner movable barrel to move backward toward the breech block striping a cartridge from the feeding device and forcing the end of the cartridge against the firing pin on the breech block. The bullet is fired down the bore of the inner movable barrel. The movement of the bullet along the bore of the inner movable barrel drags the barrel forward against the action of the bias spring. The addition of a piston device attached to the muzzle end of the inner movable barrel causes added momentum to be delivered to the moving barrel to assist the barrel in its forward movement. This added momentum can be further enhanced by including a muzzle brake adjacent the piston device. The battering of the various parts of the firearm and the cycle speed of the firearm can be reduced by use of an air pressure chamber situated between the inner movable barrel, the receiver tube, the barrel guide and a shoulder on the inner movable barrel.

    • This invention relates to firearms of the type disclosed in my prior U.S. Pat. No. 3,198,077, granted Aug. 3, 1965, in which the bolt does not turn and the action is locked by turning the receiver. The principal parts, such as floating ring receiver piston and ring power cylinder are made from cylindrical extruded metal tubing or metal rods. The combination of floating ring receiver piston, ring power cylinder and other incidental parts are used to form a new action for an automatic firearm.This new action consists of a floating ring receiver piston, barrel and ring power cylinder. The above-mentioned parts, the frame and breech block lend themselves to manufacture by the use of automatic lathe and screw machines.
