摘要： A semi-automatic or automatic rifle comprising a barrel attached to and upper receiver and including a compressible bolt carrier extension system. The compressible bolt carrier extension system includes a bolt carrier, an extension spring, two pins, and a reciprocation bolt carrier extension piece. As a whole, the compressible bolt carrier extension system makes possible the use of elongated upper and lower receivers to be used for chambering long-action or other center fire cartridges for use with AR rifles such as the M-16, and M4 etc., eliminating the need for any buffer or buffer tubes other than those commercially available. A further advantage of the compressible bolt carrier extension system is the reduction of felt recoil as the system fully loads during the recoil stroke as it pushes against the buffer absorbing additional recoil energy. The system can be incorporated into firearms using a variety of cartridges.

摘要： A piston for a gas-operated firearm has an elongated body having a head portion adapted to be closely received in the cylindrical bore for reciprocation within the bore, the head portion having a first side toward a forward direction and a second side toward the rearward direction, the body having an operational facility on the second side adapted to transmit an operating force to the action in response to gas pressure on the first side, and the head portion defining a bypass passage between the first side and the second side. The bypass passage may have an adjustment facility adapted to provide selectable resistance to gas flow through the bypass passage. The adjustment facility may be a movable occlusion element that selectably occludes the bypass passage. The occlusion element may be a threaded element. The occlusion element may be a collar that receives a portion of the body.

摘要： A reduced friction firearm component that is movably mounted within a firearm wherein that is configured to slidably engage an adjacent element with reduced friction. The reduced friction firearm component further includes a body that is cylindrical in shape. The body includes an exterior surface and further includes a first end and a second end. Formed within the exterior surface of the body are a plurality of grooves. The plurality of grooves extend inward along said body from said first end and said second end. Rotatably mounted within said plurality of grooves are a multitude of ball bearings. A fastener is secured proximate the first end of each of said plurality of grooves that is operable to retain the multitude of ball bearings within said plurality of grooves. The ball bearings function to provide the only point of contact intermediate the reduced friction firearm component and an adjacent element.

摘要： The present invention comprises a self-actuating blow forward firearm having a fixed breech block located to the rear of the firearm. A cartridge feeder provides a supply of cartridges to the loading area so that the firearm can be used as an automatic or semi-automatic weapon. The firearm also contains an outer receiver tube and a movable inner gun barrel which is biased toward the rear of the firearm by a spring disposed in a chamber between the receiver tube and the inner movable barrel. When the trigger mechanism is activated, the action of the bias spring causes the inner movable barrel to move backward toward the breech block striping a cartridge from the feeding device and forcing the end of the cartridge against the firing pin on the breech block. The bullet is fired down the bore of the inner movable barrel. The movement of the bullet along the bore of the inner movable barrel drags the barrel forward against the action of the bias spring. The addition of a piston device attached to the muzzle end of the inner movable barrel causes added momentum to be delivered to the moving barrel to assist the barrel in its forward movement. This added momentum can be further enhanced by including a muzzle brake adjacent the piston device. The battering of the various parts of the firearm and the cycle speed of the firearm can be reduced by use of an air pressure chamber situated between the inner movable barrel, the receiver tube, the barrel guide and a shoulder on the inner movable barrel.
