摘要： A domestic boiler preheater includes a flue box having a combustion gas inlet to receive hot combustion gas from a boiler, and a combustion air inlet to receive air for combustion in a boiler. The preheater further includes a condenser having a mains cold water inlet and a mains water outlet arranged such that mains water flows through the condenser prior to being supplied to a boiler combustion chamber. The condenser further includes a central heating water return and a central heating water flow outlet arranged such that central heating water flows through the condenser prior to being supplied to the boiler combustion chamber. The condenser further includes connections that enable the condenser to be connected to preheated fluid supply pipework from a source of preheated fluid, the preheated fluid having fluid heated by heat from at least one of the combustion gas and a renewable energy source.

摘要： A heating system includes a heat pump that provides heat to a major fluid circuit and a minor fluid circuit for performing different heating operations. The system includes a power source having a variable cost and a controller configured to regulate flow of the major and minor fluid circuits to perform the heating operations. The controller is configured to receive information regarding the variable cost of the power source and distribute flow between the major and minor fluid circuits to perform the heating operations to minimize the electricity cost. The combined enhanced demand regulation and enhanced output regulation amplifies the total heat output and power consumption while permitting greater use of a power source of varying cost (e.g. PV)—thereby minimizing overall daily operating cost.

摘要： The present invention relates to transforming a pre-existing heating installation comprising a main heat generator such as a boiler which is associated with a modulating mixer valve controlled by a P or PD type regulator which is responsive to outside temperature and to the departure temperature of the heating water. In accordance with the invention a control device is inserted between said pre-existing regulator and said pre-existing valve, said control device including an integrator module (110) connected to the output from said pre-existing regulator and controlling a threshold relay (120) which in turn provides successive on/off control of auxiliary heat generators such as heat pumps, when respective thresholds are detected, said control device further including a switch (170, 171, 161) controlled by the threshold relay in the event that heat demand exceeds the supply available from the auxiliary generators in order to allow the signals from the conventional regulator (6, 7) to be applied to the mixing valve in order to enable the main heat generator to be switched on.

摘要： Hydraulic fracturing is used to interconnect two or more holes which penetrate a previously dry geothermal reservoir, and to produce within the reservoir a sufficiently large heat-transfer surface so that heat can be extracted from the reservoir at a usefully high rate by a fluid entering it through one hole and leaving it through another. Introduction of a fluid into the reservoir to remove heat from it and establishment of natural (unpumped) convective circulation through the reservoir to accomplish continuous heat removal are important and novel features of the method.
