摘要： Provided are a molten metal plating facility and a method with which degradation in the surface quality of a strip can be prevented by preventing the adhesion of splashes. In a molten metal plating facility and a method for plating a strip (S) with molten metal by guiding the strip (S) into a molten metal bath (Mm) and then guiding the strip (S) upward, a pair of wiping nozzles (12a, 12b) disposed so as to face a front surface side and a back surface side of the strip (S) guided upward is used to discharge air streams (Ea, Eb) toward a collision point (A) inside the strip (S) such that the first air streams spread out in a strip width direction of the strip (S), and a pair of outer nozzles (15a, 15b) disposed so as to face a front surface side and a back surface side of an extended plane on an outer side of the strip (S) with respect to the strip width direction, above the wiping nozzles (12a, 12b) and on each of both outer sides of the strip (S) with respect to the strip width direction is used to discharge air streams (Fa, Fb) toward a collision point (B) within the extended plane and below the collision point (A).

摘要： A method of continuously galvanizing elongated articles conveys a plurality of the elongated articles side by side in a group through several stages. One stage is a cleaning stage that uses cleaning media to remove contaminants. Another stage sprays flux on the elongated articles and removes excess flux therefrom. The group of elongated articles is then heated. A kettle heats a galvanizing bath comprising zinc and aluminum. The galvanizing bath is circulated into the bottom of a trough and the group of elongated articles is conveyed through the galvanizing bath in the trough. The group is then cooled.

摘要： The occurrence of defects on wire coated with an aluminum-zinc alloy coating applied by hot dipping in a molten coating bath is substantially decreased by preventing the deposition of zinc powder particles upon the surface of the molten aluminum-zinc coating prior to solidification of the coating. The deposition of metallic zinc powder particles upon the molten aluminum-zinc coating may be alleviated in several different manners, including preventing the formation of the zinc powder, preventing the accumulation of the zinc powder upon the surface of the molten aluminum-zinc bath, decomposing the zinc powder before it accumulates and exhausting or removing the zinc powder from the vicinity of the molten metal coated wire as it leaves the molten bath. Several novel apparatus arrangements for accomplishing the above are disclosed.

The measuring device is supported in a cooling chamber which allows the measuring device to be brought relatively close to the nozzles and a gaseous cooling medium is blown through further nozzles in the space within the chamber between the strip and the measuring device.
