摘要： A binder has at least one isocyanate and at least one biopolymer mixed with water. The biopolymer may be a biopolymer nanoparticle or cooked and chemically modified starch. Optionally, the binder may also include urea. The biopolymer and water are mixed, and the isocyanate is added to the mixture. The binder may have a viscosity that is suitable for being sprayed on a substrate to make a composite material, for example a viscosity of 700 cP or less or 500 cP or less at 40° C. The substrate may be wood, another lignocellulosic material, or synthetic or natural fibers. In particular examples, the binder is used to make no added formaldehyde wood composites including particle board and fiberboard. Alternatively, the binder may have a higher viscosity and be used to make plywood.

摘要： A process comprising a) mixing i) an isocyanate reactive component that contains from 2 to 100 weight percent of an aminobenzoate terminated composition wherein the isocyanate reactive component does not contain a solvent; and ii) an isocyanate terminated component having an isocyanate functionality of from 2 to 6 wherein the isocyanate terminated component does not contain a solvent; at a stoichiometric ratio of NCO to reactive hydrogen in the range of from 0.9 to 2.5; to form an adhesive composition; b) applying the adhesive composition to a primary substrate; and c) laminating the primary substrate with a secondary film to form a laminate structure, is disclosed. The laminate structure can be used as a laminating adhesive.

摘要： The present invention relates to novel waterborne adhesives which are polymerizable by UV light and are capable of being activated by heat, and which particularly display good adhesion to difficult substrates, such as ethylene vinyl acetate copolymers (EVA) with a low vinyl acetate content, or rubber. The invention further provides a novel method in which, after the application of the waterborne adhesive to an article and drying, irradiation with UV light and at the same time or thereafter activation by heat are performed. The adhesive film which is irradiated and activated in this way is then bonded to a further article. The invention also provides the use of the adhesives to make items such as shoes.
