摘要： A thermoplastic elastomer compound includes styrenic block copolymer that is high vinyl styrene-(ethylene/butylene)-styrene block copolymer and high softening point tackifier. The high vinyl styrene-(ethylene/butylene)-styrene block copolymer has a Copolymer Tan Delta Peak Temperature and the thermoplastic elastomer compound has a Compound Tan Delta Peak Temperature. The Compound Tan Delta Peak Temperature is greater than the Copolymer Tan Delta Peak Temperature. The thermoplastic elastomer compound exhibits useful damping properties at or above room temperature while also advantageously possessing improved stability for processing and/or applications at high temperatures and upon exposure to weathering.

摘要： A flame retardant thermoplastic resin composition comprises 100 parts by weight of a rubber-modified aromatic vinyl copolymer resin (A) and about 10 to about 30 parts by weight of a brominated diphenyl ethane mixture (B) including about 55 to about 85% by weight of hexabromodiphenyl ethane. The rubber modified aromatic vinyl copolymer resin (A) according to the present invention is a polymer resin wherein grafted rubbery polymers are dispersed in the form of particles in a matrix of vinyl copolymer. The rubber-modified aromatic vinyl copolymer resin (A) includes grafted rubbery polymers in an amount of about 10 to about 100% by weight and the matrix of vinyl copolymer in an amount of about 0 to about 90% by weight. The brominated diphenyl ethane mixture (B) may have about 1 to about 25% by weight of diphenyl ethane having an odd number of bromine substituents.

摘要： Elastomeric compositions comprising at least one C4 to C7 monoolefin elastomer, at least one polyalphaolefin, and optionally at least one hydrocarbon polymer additive are disclosed. The PAO comprises oligomers of one or more C2 to C20 alpha-olefins having a kinematic viscosity at 100° C. of 3 to 3000 cSt and a Mw/Mn of less than 4. In one aspect, the elastomeric composition may have improved flex fatigue properties and have a fatigue life of 450,000 Kc or more as measured by ASTM D 412 die C. In another aspect, an elastomeric composition may have improved impermeability and have a permeation coefficient at 40° C. of 160 cc*mm/(m2−day) or less.

摘要： Compositions, processes, and methods are provided relating to styrenic polymers, including high impact polystyrene (HIPS), also referred to as rubber-modified polystyrene. In one aspect, a process is provided for making high impact polystyrenes, comprising the steps of combining a monovinylarene component, a monovinylarene-conjugated diene block copolymer, and a conjugated diene polymer. In another aspect, the feed components form an emulsion having a continuous phase and a dispersed phase. The continuous phase comprises at least a portion of the monovinylarene component and at least a portion of the conjugated diene polymer. The dispersed phase is suspended within the continuous phase, and comprises globules having at least a portion of the monovinylarene-conjugated diene block copolymer, a remaining portion of the monovinylarene component, and a remaining portion of the conjugated diene polymer. The monovinylarene component is polymerized in the presence of the emulsion alone or in the presence of other feedstocks.

摘要： The present invention relates to compositions comprising blends of alkenyl aromatic polymers such as styrenic polymers (i.e. PS and HIPS) and bio-based or biodegradable polymers (i.e. PLA, PGA, PHA, PBS, PCL) compatibilized with styrene-based copolymers (i.e. styrene-ethylene-butylene-styrene (SEBS) block copolymers, maleated SEBS, styrene-maleic anhydride (SMA) copolymer, styrene-methyl methacrylate (SMMA) copolymer) or a mixture of two or more styrene-based copolymers such as SEBS and SMA. These novel compositions can be extruded and thermoformed to produce very low density food service and consumer foam articles such as plates, hinged lid containers, trays, bowls, and egg cartons with good mechanical properties.
