    • The cantilever and compression strength of a polymer post insulator decreases according to lengthening of lever length of the polymer post insulator. By combining polymer post insulators to construct a structure having an increased strength in an arbitrary direction, a polymer insulator apparatus and a method for mounting the same can provide a sufficient strength and rigidity even as a long insulator for high voltage that requires a long insulation distance. Polymer post insulator columns 12-1, 12-2, in which plural polymer post insulators 1-1 to 1-4 are stacked, are arranged in parallel. The polymer post insulator columns 12-1, 12-2 arranged in parallel are connected with each other via connecting plates 13-1 to 13-3 at each connection site of the polymer post insulators 1-1 to 1-4 constituting the polymer post insulator columns 12-1, 12-2 as well as at the top and bottom of the polymer post insulator columns 12-1, 12-2. Thus, the cantilever strength in a direction of arranging the polymer post insulator columns 12-1, 12-2 in parallel is increased, and also the compression strength in a direction of stacking the polymer post insulators 1-1 to 1-4 is increased.

    • The present invention provides electrically conductive and flexible primer compositions that harden to form conductive materials under room temperature or low bake temperature curing conditions. The primer composition contains solvents and 40-75% by weight of film forming binder and pigments in an overall pigment to binder weight ratio of about 1:100 to 100:100; wherein the binder contains (A) a flexible hydroxy containing polyester resin and (B) an organic polyisocyanate crosslinking agent; and wherein the pigments include electrically conductive pigments in a pigment to binder weight ratio of about 1:100 to 130:100 and the electrically conductive pigments consists essentially of a combination of graphite and conductive carbon black pigments in a graphite to carbon black weight ratio of about 120:1 to 1:1, and the composition forms a hard, flexible coating having a surface conductivity of at least 100 Ransburg units when cured at room temperature or low bake conditions. The coating composition can be used on metal or plastic substrates to render the substrate conductive.

    • A fence tape, rope or wire for transmitting an electric current to an animal that touches the fence tape, rope or wire, having a support structure and an electrically conductive conduction structure (3). The conduction structure (3) has different electrically conductive materials having mutually distinctive electrical and mechanical properties. One of the materials has a better electrical conductivity. The other material has a greater resistance to tensile and bending loads. The conduction structure (3) contains at least one composite filament having, viewed in cross section, a conduction zone (4) from the electrically better conducting material and a self-supporting support zone (5) from the better material as to tensile and bending loadability. Mechanical loading of the electrically better conductive material is limited and an electrically conductive bridge is even maintained if an interruption of the electrically better conductive material occurs. A filament (3) for use in the proposed tape, wire or rope is also described.

    • An electric fence energiser is intended to reduce exposure of an animal tangled in the fence line to high power deterrent pulses for an indefinite period. The energiser is arranged to along the fence line, sense a characteristic associated with said evaluation pulse(s) that varies with load on the fence line, and set a threshold value based on said sensed characteristic, send one or more further low power evaluation pulses along the fence line, sense a characteristic associated with the evaluation pulse(s) that varies with load on the fence line, compare the sensed characteristic to the threshold value, and when a change in the sensed characteristic relative to the threshold value indicative of an animal in contact with the fence line is detected, send one or more but not more than a predetermined maximum number of higher power deterrent pulses along the fence line, subsequently send one or more further low power evaluation pulses along the fence line, sense a characteristic associated with the evaluation pulses that varies with load on the fence line, and either re-evaluate and optionally reset the threshold, or set a new threshold value, and continue to send further low power evaluation pulses along the fence line and sense a characteristic associated with the low power evaluation pulse(s) that varies with load on the fence line, and compare the sensed characteristic to the current threshold value, and send one or more further but not more than a predetermined maximum number of higher power deterrent pulses along the fence line if a change relative to the threshold value is again detected.
