摘要： A multiphase converter topology is used for the transmission of electrical energy from an AC voltage input with m grid phase connections to a DC voltage output or vice versa. It has a power part with half-bridges for switching currents, an AC voltage filter between the power part and the AC voltage input, and DC voltage block(s) connected between the power part and the DC output. The AC voltage filter has alternating voltage filter stage(s) with m+1 input connections, m+1 output connections and a ground connection. The m grid phase connections are thereby connected in parallel to one another and form a first phase connection for the connection of a single-phase AC voltage. A neutral conductor connection of the AC voltage filter forms a neutral conductor connection of the AC voltage input and a second phase connection for the connection of the single-phase AC voltage.

One such electrical system comprises: a first rotary electric machine mechanically coupled with a first gas turbine spool and a second rotary electric machine mechanically coupled with a second gas turbine spool, each said electric machine having an identical even number N≥4 of phases, each phase having a respective index n=(1, . . . , N), and each phase comprising an identical number P≥1 of coils wound in a P-plex configuration in which adjacent phases are radially separated by 2π/NP mechanical radians; a first set of N bidirectional converter circuits for conversion of alternating current (ac) to and from direct current (dc), each converter circuit having a respective index n and being connected with the P coils in the nth phase of the first rotary electric machine; and a second set of N bidirectional converter circuits for conversion of ac to and from dc, each converter circuit having a respective index n and being connected with the P coils in the nth phase of the second rotary electric machine. For all n, a dc side of the nth converter circuit in said first set is connected with a dc side of the nth converter circuit in said second set to facilitate dc power transfer between the first gas turbine spool and the second gas turbine spool.

The switching frequency may be configured such that a DC chucking operation can be active at the same time to hold a substrate to the pedestal. Duty cycling the heating zones that share the return lead may minimize the current through the shared return lead.

The multiple-input power converter is configured for calculating a power upper-bound based on the level of stored energy in the battery assembly and the length of a night time, and selecting at least a subset of the lighting groups and powering the selected lighting groups for illumination using the battery assembly for preventing exhausting the stored energy of the battery assembly before the battery assembly can be charged by the solar panel.

For example, when an adapter is connected to the battery charger, but the system is idling, embodiments allow for power from the adapter to be directly coupled to the battery charger output, and main switching to be stopped, thereby dramatically reducing battery charger current consumption. These and other embodiments provide various circuitry and techniques to ensure that the battery is protected in this mode. According to further aspects, the present embodiments provide for the charger itself to autonomously enter and exit the adapter pass through mode, thereby eliminating the need for excessive processing overhead in components external to the battery charger.
