摘要： The present invention relates to a cable-type secondary battery having a horizontal cross section of a predetermined shape and extending longitudinally, comprising: an inner electrode having an inner current collector and an inner electrode active material layer surrounding the outer surface of the inner current collector; a separation layer surrounding the outer surface of the inner electrode to prevent a short circuit between electrodes; and an outer electrode surrounding the outer surface of the separation layer, and having an outer electrode active material layer, an open-structured outer current collector and a conductive paste layer.The outer electrode having a conductive paste layer and an open-structured outer current collector according to the present invention has good flexibility to improve the flexibility of a cable-type secondary battery having the same. Also, the conductive paste layer is made of a light material, and thus can contribute to the lightening of the cable-type secondary battery.

A plurality of reserve battery modules may be respectively replaceably provided in corresponding ones of the plurality of compartments, each of the plurality of reserve battery modules being configured to provide power when a reserve battery provided therein is activated. Each reserve battery module of the plurality of reserve battery modules includes a sleeve and a reserve battery provided within the sleeve, the sleeve being configured to fit within one of the plurality of compartments in a predetermined orientation. Each sleeve may be detachably connectable within any compartment of the plurality of compartments and includes electrical connections so that each reserve battery module of the plurality of reserve battery modules is separately replaceable while the power supply apparatus remains remotely located.

The connecting structure includes a metal plate having an electrode connecting unit connected to an electrode of each unit cell of the core pack and a circuit connecting unit connected to the protection circuit module; and a circuit terminal unit electrically connected to the circuit connecting unit by being located in a connection hole formed in the PCB substrate of the protection circuit module so that the upper and lower portions of the PCB substrate communicate with each other. The circuit connecting unit is coupled and electrically connected to the circuit terminal unit by means of a connection method which allows selective connection and separation.

摘要： A cooling apparatus communicates through a communicating pipe with an inside space of an airtight casing in which a plurality of battery cells are hermetically held. The cooling apparatus and the inside space of the airtight casing are filled with high boiling point coolant. The coolant absorbs heat developed by the plurality of battery cells in the airtight casing so that it evaporates. The evaporated (gaseous) coolant rises toward the cooling apparatus and is condensed in the cooling apparatus. Then the condensed (liquid) coolant returns to around the battery cells by its self-weight. Accordingly, the battery cells are uniformly and efficiently cooled not to have variation in temperature therein.

To reduce cost and increase durability, pack 13 has no welded connections and will permit high current discharge rates. Cells 41, 43 are electrically connected but are mechanically disconnected. A spring 73 engages cell 41 and biases cells 41, 43 tightly together in compression to form good, low resistance electrical contact between cells 41, 43, casing base cap 45 and top 53. To provide a pack with two output voltages, the third pack terminal 61 has a polarity (relative to first pack terminal 46) the same as second pack terminal 54 and is electrically connected to the cell can terminal 43b of forward cell 43, thereby electrically by-passing cell 43.

摘要： A battery having a rust-preventive structure includes a battery cell, the side-wall and an outer peripheral region of the safety valve end of which are covered with heat-shrink tubing. A sealing plate is attached in a moisture-tight fashion to the heat-shrink tubing on the safety valve end via a pressure separating adhesive layer. Adhesive seals the region between a lead-tab connected to the battery terminal and the sealing plate.

The case comprises a tubular body housing the battery cells and a couple of lids closing both the end openings of the tubular body respectively, thus being arranged in a three-unit construction.
