摘要： An overload relay is disclosed in which a single operator coil is controlled for both tripping and resetting. A permanent magnet and a spring make the device bi-stable, so the coil may be unpowered when in the trip and reset states. Energization of the coil overcomes the magnet to allow tripping, while energization in an opposite direction adds to the magnet force to reset the device. An electromagnetic activation path overrides a mechanical activation path for electromagnetic tripping despite attempted manual resetting. The device may be pulse width modulated to reduce power consumption.

The magnetic field causes the MSM alloy to bend to contact the second electrically conductive electrode when the MSM alloy is in a first state. The magnetic field has no or negligible effect on the MSM alloy when the MSM alloy is in a second state.

The movement of the reset component results in a reset of the lock out mechanism.

A solenoid of the switch actuator is energized to move the output shaft of the solenoid. The movement of the solenoid output shaft is converted into rotational motion by an adapter rotatably mounted at one end to the solenoid output shaft and fixedly mounted at the other end to the control shaft of the circuit breaker. The rotational motion of the control shaft mechanically engages the existing circuit breaker control switch.

摘要： An electrical power switching device employing a rotary disc driven by an actuation means whose position is selected by a control means where disc contacts engage and disengage stationary contacts where the stationary contacts are deflected away from the disc contacts by separation ramps thereby opening the current path and an arc plate is used on the disc to control arc energy. A pair of interrupter contacts are placed in series with the rotary disc contacts where abnormally high currents cause the interrupter contacts to separate and open the current path where slot motors and/or arc plates are used to dissipate the damaging electrical arcs as the contacts make and break.
