摘要： A photographic film cartridge has one or more resistive elements formed on the exterior surface of the cartridge with associated visual indicator elements to indicate exposure status of film in the cartridge. The camera is provided with a drive circuit to change the resistance values of the resistive elements to provide an electrically sensed indication of the film exposure status when next the cartridge is placed in the camera. Provision can be made for both full exposure and mid-roll interrupt indications. At the same time, the heat generated by the resistive element during its change in resistance value is useful to change a characteristic of the associated visual indicator to provide a visual indication of the exposure status of the film in the cartridge.

摘要： A single mechanism performs three or four functions in a camera, the advancement of a film (6) mounted therein being used to provide energy to the mechanism. A tracking pin (2) is guided in a track (3) causing a tracking member (1) to move in a cyclic manner. For part of the cycle, a clawed end (4) of the tracking member (1) is in engagement with the film (6), the advancement of which causes movement of the tracking pin (2) along the forward portion (3a) of the track (3), and extension of a first tension spring (12). On movement of a shutter release lever (11) the tracking pin (2) moves rapidly along the remaining rear portion (3b) of the track (3) under the action of the tension springs (12, 13). A frame counter mechanism (7, 8, 9, 10) is actuated by the tracking member (1) at a convenient point. The shutter mechanism is also activated at a suitable point after operation of the shutter release lever (11).

摘要： A still camera is loaded with a film cartridge having a rotatable sprocket for pushing film out of and retracting it through a light trap opening in the cartridge and has a film metering mechanism which controls rotation of the sprocket and precisely regulates the amount of film pushed out of the cartridge and in front of the lens so that each individual picture has exactly the same predetermined position relative to the leading and trailing edges of the film on all film strips. The film metering means transports a length of film equal to a leader plus a single picture frame for the first picture and lengths equal to a single picture frame for succeeding pictures and precisely places the same identical portion on all film strips in front of the lens for corresponding picture frames.

A film sensing pawl is mounted for movement between a retracted position resting on the film surface, an extended position transversing the film while in a film perforation and a metering position spaced from the extended position in the direction of film advancement. A resilient force is selectively applied to the sensing member in a direction urging the sensing member from its metering position toward its extended position. The force on the sensing member is relieved at least during operation of the camera''s exposure mechanism so that the force is not transmitted by the sensing member to the filmstrip.

As additional convolutions of exposed film accumulate in the magazine, tangential film-spring contact displaces the spring to increase the effective size of the film receiving chamber. The magazine is attached to a camera by an assembly including a lever operated latch. The same lever moves a knife edge plate to sever the exposed film and to cover the film exit aperture when the magazine is detached from the camera.
