    • A projection lens system which includes a telecentric lens assembly. The lens may be used to form an image from a light source, including for example a resonant microcavity phosphororcathode ray tube, onto a screen or display, such as in a television or a projection device. In accordance with one embodiment, a planar cooling gap or cavity (which may or may not contain a cooling liquid) is included between the imaging surface and the matching planar surface of the field lens. The use of a planar gap alleviates any temperature differentials across the cooling liquid and the lens surfaces, as compared with alternate designs that may have a non-planar gap between the faceplate and the field lens, or that use liquid lenses.

    • The claimed invention provides a self-actuating lenticular display assembly that places the lenticular image in intimate contact with the lenticular lens while maintaining the lenticular image separate from the lenticular lens to form the lenticular display. The lenticular display assembly further comprises a rigid back plate placed behind the lenticular display so that the lenticular image moves in a parallel plane between the lenticular lens and the rigid back plate, a motor that accomplishes movement of the lenticular image in relation to the lenticular lens, alignment mechanisms that allow the lenticular image to be incrementally adjusted in relation to the lenticular lens, and different means for maintaining intimacy between the lenticular image and the lenticular lens, thus eliminating undesirable nullsoft spotsnull that may occur. Alternative embodiments are also presented that relate to, among other features, a flexible, removably attached back plate, a nulldwellnull feature provided near the mid-point of image excursion, and a mechanism that permits selection of a desired image display sequence.

    • The invention relates generally to optical interference filters and interferometers. Methods, devices and device components are presented for separating closely spaced optical channels with minimized cross talk. The invention provides optical interference filters having parallel phase control elements which efficiently transmit light of a selected optical channel or a plurality of selected channels with decreased light loss, particularly decreased insertion loss. An exemplary interference filter of the present invention provides minimized vertical and horizontal recombination error and improved optical path length matching. The invention further provides methods of fabricating optical interference filters with improved piece-to-piece reproducibility. The methods, devices and device components provided herein are particularly well-suited for combining or separating closely spaced optical signals corresponding to transmission channels of a selected frequency standard, such as the International Telecommunication Union frequency standard.
