    • An ejector for firearms which use projectiles without cases of the new design with a perimetric primer. Such an ejector may be used on any type of gun which is equipped with a radial percussion system designed to percuss such projectiles.Used with the projectiles without cases, the ejector should eject from the detonating chamber of the gun only those projectiles on which the firing pin has not provoked the detonation of the charge at the moment of percussion.At the same time since it is impossible to prevent from time to time during firing the occurrence of defective projectiles which remain in the barrel, during the phase of introduction into the detonating chamber the ejector should be able to hook onto every single projectile, retaining hooked onto it only those which, due to defects, remain in the detonating chamber and leaving all the others free to come out of the mouth of the barrel.

    • A ram head for possibly two-part ammunition which is provided at its bottom with a central rotationally symmetrical form-locking zone. In order to be able to unload the ammunition, a housing (1) is provided with a ring (11) that is arranged to be axially displaceable therein and is provided with a plurality of radially pivotally articulated extraction levers (12), with the extraction levers (12) being spreadable against a spring bias by a plunger (25). The ring is coupled with a slide sleeve (22) that is provided with a centering ring (23) having a shape corresponding to the form locking zone of the ammunition and the axial movement of the ring (11) and of the plunger (25) is controllable by an eccentric shaft (8) mounted on the housing.

    • A primer feed mechanism for automatically feeding unfired primers to, and extracting fired primers from, an artillery piece. A magazine having a rotatable cylindrical drum carrying a plurality of primer cartridges is detachably mounted adjacent the breach block of an artillery piece. A user actuable release handle controls movement of a reciprocable mounted camplate. Movement of the camplate in one direction indexes the rotatable drum to align a fresh primer cartridge with the firing chamber of the artillery piece. Such movement of the camplate also drives a rearwardly positioned bolt toward the breach block of the artillery piece thereby driving the unfired primer cartridge into the firing chamber. Movement of the camplate in the opposite direction causes the bolt to extract the fired primer cartridge from the firing chamber and back into the magazine drum.

    • An ammunition storage and retrieval system comprises a passive magazine having left and right backs of cells arranged in rows, with each cell accommodating a projectile in vertical, base-down orientation; the cells and cell rows being defined by adjacent pairs of elongated superstructures. A projectile loading head is movably mounted by a traveling beam, in turn, movably mounted by elevated rails, such that the loading head may be translated through a center aisle to address a selected row in either bank and then through the selected row to a selected cell for downloading of a projectile therein. A projectile receiver, dependent from the loading head, includes projectile gripping arms and a projectile lifting foot, which are articulated in coordination with operation of projectile locking members mounted by the superstructures to effect downloading.
