    • An ice maker capable of efficiently making and removing ice cubes. The ice maker includes first and second pulleys, a drive unit, an ice making conveyor, heat/light generating units, and a reflecting member. The first and second pulleys are spaced apart from each other. The drive unit rotates the first and second pulleys. The ice making conveyor is wrapped around the first and second pulleys, and has a plurality of ice making parts which are concavely formed to contain water therein. The heat/light generating units are located in an interior of the ice making conveyor. The reflecting member covers upper and side portions of the heat/light generating units to downwardly reflect and guide heat and the light generated from the heat/light generating units. The ice maker is provided with the heat/light generating units and the reflecting member, thus allowing ice cubes to be efficiently removed from ice making parts located under the heat/light generating units, and minimizing the amount of energy transmitted to the ice making parts located above the heat/light generating units.

    • A vapor injecting ice and hot water generating device is disclosed. The Laffer nozzles are used as main working elements. When vapor from the vapor boiler flows through the Laffer nozzle; the suction end of the Laffer nozzle has a negative pressure so as to remove the latent heat of cycling water in the evaporator connected to the suction end. Thereby, the temperature of the water is reduced continuously to a preset value; then the water is sent to the ice water adjusting tank for being used. Another, the vapor passing through the Laffer nozzle enters into the condenser. The condensed water has a temperature lower than that of the vapor flowing down from a top of the condenser for condensing the vapor. The condensed hot water is collected to the cycling condensing water storage tank to be sent to the hot water adjusting tank for being used. By above mentioned structure, power is saved.

    • An ice maker of a refrigerator includes: an ice making vessel having a plurality of cavities; an ejector for separating ice formed in the cavity from the ice making vessel and discharging the ice to a storage container; a driving unit for driving the ejector; a heater disposed at a lower side of the ice making vessel and heating the ice making vessel; a temperature sensor disposed at one side of the ice making vessel and sensing a temperature of the ice making vessel; a full ice detecting unit for generating an electric signal when the storage container is full of ice; and a control unit for receiving the electric signal outputted from the full ice detecting unit and the temperature sensor so as to control an operation of the driving unit and the heater, and turning on/off an input power supply according to the electric signal outputted from the full ice detecting unit. Since the ice maker includes a control unit to control each driving element of the ice maker, the entire process that water is supplied to the ice maker vessel, ice making is performed and the ejector is operated to store the formed ice to the storage container, can be automatically controlled, the performance of the ice maker can be improved.

    • An ice tray driving device has a mesh start section. The mesh start section includes a raised tooth formed by projecting at least one tooth of each of two output gears in the tooth width direction, a column section axially adjacent to the driving gear, a recessed tooth disposed in the column section and formed so as to mesh with the raised tooth, and a slide member for blocking the recessed tooth of the column section at a predetermined position. When the driving gear rotates one of the two output gears, the slide member keeps the blockage of the recessed tooth with respect to the raised tooth of the output gear that is not rotated to prevent the meshing. Thus, the meshing is started only by facing the raised tooth to the recessed tooth, the driving gear and the entire ice tray driving device can be downsized.
