    • A method and apparatus for creating a fluid tight seal between a capillary column and a connector. The method and apparatus are easy to employ and do not require the use of screws, ferrules, or additional tools. The method can be used for any capillary tubing as well as for megabore and microbore columns and tubing. In the method, a length of auxiliary tubing is placed over the outside of tubing requiring a fluid tight seal, such as a capillary column. After the capillary column is inserted into the connector, the length of auxiliary tubing is press-fit into the connector creating a secondary fluid tight seal. The auxiliary tubing provides additional mechanical stability during mechanical vibration and dramatically increases the tensile force required to compromise the fluid seal. This method can be used for many types of chromatography including gas chromatography and liquid chromatography. A connector assembly and fluid tight seal assembly are also disclosed.

    • A connector for connecting a first tubular member to a second tubular member is disclosed, for example for connecting a riser to a wellhead in a subsea oilfield location. The second tubular member has a seating surface and comprises an engagable locking profile. The connector comprises a housing for securing the connector to the end portion of the first tubular member, the housing comprising a seating surface for contacting the seating surface of the second tubular member. A locking assembly is provided having a locking portion engagable with the locking profile of the second tubular member, the locking assembly movable between an unlocked position, in which the locking portion of the locking assembly is not in engagement with the locking profile of the second tubular member, to a locked position, in which the locking portion of the locking assembly is engaged with the locking portion of the second tubular member and in which the seating surface of the housing is in contact with the seating surface of the second tubular member. The connector further includes a first actuator, operable to move the locking assembly from the unlocked position to the locked position, and a second actuator, operable after operation of the first actuator to apply an axial tensile load to the locking assembly, thereby urging the seating surface of the housing against the seating surface of the second tubular member. A method of connecting a first tubular member to a second tubular member is also disclosed.

    • A socketless fitting for releasable connection of a pressurized line. The fitting has a housing body with a receiving opening to insert one end of the line, and an inner sleeve attached in the housing body in an arrangement that extends coaxially within the receiving opening for engagement into the inserted line end. The inner sleeve is fastened in the housing body media-tight around the periphery by a connector and preferably engages in the line media-tight around the periphery. A clamping element axially movable in the receiving opening cooperates with an inner surface of the housing body to secure the line end onto the inner sleeve. Media-tight outward sealing is accomplished by sealing engagement of the essentially rigidly secured inner sleeve in the line, because the inner sleeve itself is also tightly joined to the housing body.
