摘要： A failsafe multimode clutch assembly positioned in a powertrain of a rotorcraft. The clutch assembly includes a freewheeling having a driving mode in which torque applied to the input race is transferred to the output race and an overrunning mode in which torque applied to the output race is not transferred to the input race. A bypass assembly has an engaged position that couples the input and output races of the freewheeling unit. An actuator assembly uses pressurized lubricating oil to shift the bypass assembly between the engaged position and a disengaged position. A lock assembly enables and disables actuation of the bypass assembly. In the disengaged position, the overrunning mode of the freewheeling unit enables a unidirectional torque transfer mode of the clutch assembly. In the engaged position, the overrunning mode of the freewheeling unit is disabled such that the clutch assembly is configured for bidirectional torque transfer.

The fluid coupling includes a fluid coupling housing, an impeller drivingly connected to the fluid coupling housing, and a turbine arranged for driving connection to a transmission input shaft. The electric motor includes a nonrotatable stator and a rotatable rotor including a rotor carrier. The first clutch is arranged to drivingly connect the rotor carrier directly to the transmission input shaft. In some example embodiments, the first clutch is a dog clutch. In some example embodiments, the multi-mode hybrid module includes a first clutch actuator. The first clutch has an axially slidable sleeve arranged to selectively rotationally connect the rotor carrier and the transmission input shaft, and the first clutch actuator is arranged to displace the axially slidable sleeve to connect and disconnect the rotor carrier and the transmission input shaft.

The reduction gear causes an output shaft joined to an object to rotate around a second axis.

The sliding coupling is mountable between the gearbox and the output shaft. The sliding coupling is continuously engageable with the gearbox and is selectively engageable with the output shaft to mechanically couple the output shaft to the gearbox. The sliding coupling is slidingly displaceable between a first position in which the sliding coupling is mechanically coupled to the output shaft to transmit a rotational drive of the output shaft to the gearbox, and a second position in which the sliding coupling is disengaged from the output shaft. A piston is disposed within the engine and acts on the sliding coupling to displace the sliding coupling to at least the second position.

摘要： A transmission having an input shaft, piston, dog clutch, sensor sleeve and control system is provided. The dog clutch includes male and female members, where one of the members is coupled to the piston for common movement therewith. The sleeve includes a through channel and a reduced diameter sensor portion terminating at a shoulder. The control system is configured to: command a supply of hydraulic fluid against an engagement side of the piston, determine when a terminal end of the sensor portion contacts a control, and determine that the dog clutch members are in a predetermined partially engaged state less than a fully engaged state of the dog clutch members. A length of the reduced diameter sensor portion directly corresponds to the predetermined partially engaged state of the dog clutch that is less than a fully engaged state of the male and female members of the dog clutch.

摘要： A composite clutch (110) is adapted to transmit an operational range of torques (60) from a driving member (118) to a driven member (122). The composite clutch (110) incorporates both of a friction clutch assembly (124) and a dog clutch assembly (126), each assembly adapted to address one of two segments (62, 68) of the operational range of torques (60). The clutch (110) further includes a spring-loaded detent system (180) configured to control transition (66) between the two segments (62, 68) of operational ranges of torques (60). The friction clutch assembly (124) includes first friction clutch elements (128) coupled to the driving member (118) and second friction clutch elements (132) coupled to the driven member (122) for providing torque control within the lower operational range of torques (64). The dog clutch assembly (126) includes a first dog clutch element (136) coupled to the driving member (118) and a second dog clutch element (138) coupled to the driven member (122), in which the first and second dog clutch elements (136, 138) are configured to mechanically lock together during the higher operational range of torques (70).
