    • A closure is provided for an accumulator. The closure comprises a drain housing, a spring within the drain housing, and hollow cup-like piston within the drain housing, which is urged into an open position by the spring. With the piston in a closed position, the accumulator port is closed and blocks the bladder from entering the drain. The piston has substantially elliptical drain holes in its cylindrical side wall. With the piston in an open condition, the drain holes extend from within the accumulator housing to within the drain housing. The wall which defines the opening of each drain hole, at the portion adjacent to the closed joint of the piston, is canted so that a vector of the forces attributable to liquids leaving the accumulator is directed against the piston to aid in keeping it open. The spring is a coiled spring, so dimensioned as to be proximate the drain housing wall so as to be removed from the flow of the stored substance as it enters and leaves the accumulator. Further, the spring abuts the piston at the end of the piston which is well within the drainage housing. The diametrcal spacing between the piston and drain housing is such as to permit the stored substances to leave the accumulator with the piston in a closed position.

    • A liquid pressure tank is provided for storing liquid under pressure for use in domestic or commercial reticulated supply of the type having an impervious bladder dividing the tank into an air chamber and a liquid chamber, a constant amount of air being maintained in the chamber under pressure. A liquid pump and pressure switch system is provided for maintaining liquid in the chamber between preset pressure limits, and the tank includes a liquid outlet control comprising a seat member and a resilient disc member mounted in spaced relation from the seat and arranged to be deformed around the seat when contacted by the bladder mounted therearound to at least partially close the outlet and prevent rupturing of the bladder when liquid is substantially exhausted from the tank.

    • The present invention is directed to pulse dampener devices of the type employed to dampen pulses within hydraulic systems such as result from the use of pumps of the piston type. The device includes a pressure vessel having a movable partition therein, dividing the vessel into two chambers, each having a port in communication therewith, respectively a gas port for charging a gas under pressure into one said chamber and an oil port for connection to the hydraulic line. The device is characterized by an improved fitting which is subject to economical manufacture and which provides both the mounting means and the necessary hydraulic connection to the hydraulic system, while at the same time affording improved pulse dampening operation.
