    • For narrow ore mining, shrinkage stopping is used with working equipment, such as a working platform or mining rig (30), which is suspended in guide sections (38) in the roof of the mining chamber, and from which drilling and charging is carried through, the mining chamber communicating with a raise. In the raise, which follows the inclination of the ore body, a transport lift is used designed for receiving the working platform or mining rig (30) in its lift cage (20). The lift cage (20) comprises a transport guide arranged for suspension of the working platform or the mining rig in the lift cage and connectable to a start guide in the roof of the mining chamber.

    • A method of extraction of metallic sulfides (Matte) from an ore deposit in situ. The contained sulfides are smelted by resistor induced heat creating a matte containing precious metals, including, but not limited to, platinum-group metals and gold and silver (as well as copper, nickel, iron, sulfur, etc). The heavier portion of the bath (matte) settles to the bottom and the slag rises to the top. Further smelting is controlled by positioning of the electrode pairs in the bath, thus regulating heat generation by modulation of the resistance between said electrodes. Placement of the electrodes in cased drill holes strategically placed to intersect and penetrate the ore-bearing horizons results in extraction of the valuable metals as matte. The matte can be recovered either as a liquid, or, after cooling, as a solid.

    • A circular mining process for deep mining in which a substantially circular tunnel is cut in the mountain against the advancing continuous face of the mine. As coal is cut from the face and hauled outside, additional strata from below the coal, which includes rock and stone are piled and packed to the ceiling against the opposite wall to serve as a roof support. Vehicles with special implements move in one direction only and cut the advance wall, gather the mined ore, and haul the mined ore, as well as rock and stone to a clearing out of the mine on the side of the mountain, and adjacent to the portals of the circular passageway.

    • The danger of block caving in a mining operation is largely avoided through driving a number of drifts at suitable distances along the footwall, from which blast holes are drilled in such a manner, that after blasting a slot-shaped opening is obtained in the ore body along the footwall and in such a manner that as big a part as possible of the ore body is undercut e.g. through the arrangement of a fan-shaped pattern of blast holes, or a similar slot as described above from the drawpoints dipping towards the hanging wall, whereby the lowermost draft and a belonging drift which is driven adjacent and along the hanging wall of the ore body with connecting cross cuts are utilized as main loading level, which is completed with an additional, underlying loading level.

    • A method in mining by sublevel caving in which in a development phase are driven haulage drifts or shafts and from said drifts or shafts are driven cross-cuts in an orebody with a spacing vertically and horizontally suitable from an economical and technical point of view, from which cross-cuts one or more longitudinal drifts are driven in said orebody, wherein said cross-cuts are driven straight through said orebody and into the rock wall at the opposite side thereof, where said cross-cuts are connected with upwardly directed ventilation shafts, and vertically adjacent pairs of discs are connected with these shafts and/or haulage drifts or shafts and associated ventilation means in such a way, that the upper disc then during the mining can be put under considerable sub-atmospheric pressure, while the lower disc can be put under suitable, comparatively moderate positive pressure by entering fresh air, whereby an essentially continuous mining of said orebody is allowed.
