    • A transporting and storage system for spinning machines is described, whose object is to achieve supply between machines that fill spinning cans and machines that empty spinning cans with the least possible loss in terms of travel distances and utility. According to the invention, the can distribution from the machine that fills the spinning cans to the removal can storage area before the machine that empties the spinning cans is maintained unchanged. Between the two machines, preferably three types of can storage areas are provided, namely a storage area to be filled with full cans following the first machine, a main storage area for absorbing production fluctuations between the first and second machines, and a removal storage area for the second machine. In the first storage area, there must always be empty cans, while in the third storage area there must always be full cans, so that no down times of the machines for lack of cans will occur.

    • An arrangement for exchanging empty bobbins with full bobbins includes a creel having lateral delivery positions for holding filament-carrying bobbins for delivery of filaments to a textile machine. Disposed above the creel is a bobbin carrier which has several transport positions for bobbins and is moveably guided in a rail for travel in suspended disposition along a travel path. Transfer units are positioned on either side of the creel for transferring bobbins between the creel and the bobbin carrier and include an upright moveable along the creel and at least one support moveable along the upright and having receptacles for the bobbins. The receptacles are moveable horizontally relative to the support, wherein the delivery positions of the creel that neighbor the transfer unit are provided at a number and at a distance which corresponds to a number of and a vertical distance of the transport positions on the bobbin carrier.

    • A maintenance carriage (2) of a textile machine (1) is comprised of a chassis (3) for travel along a plurality of like workstations (10) and a robot (4). The Robot is so placed on the chassis that it can be brought into an inspection position (I) from a service position (W) transverse to the travel direction of the chassis and subsequently returned too the service position. In its inspection position the robot creates a traversable passage (P) with a width which is at least 40 cm between the textile machine and itself. In its service position, the robot is secured in relation to the chassis with the aid of a locking mechanism. On each longitudinal machine side (A,B), the textile machine exhibits a separate running rail (14, 140) which possesses no connection with the running rail of the other longitudinal machine side and said running rail accommodates at least one maintenance carriage. The running rail is located above the longitudinal side area of the textile machine and the running rail exceeds the longitudinal stretch of the textile machine by at least the width of a maintenance carriage.

    • On a textile machine, arL empty spool (12) is conveyed along a multiplicity of spool stations (1) situated next to one another. In a predetermined position relative to a grasping apparatus (3) the said empty spool (12) is stopped and is picked up by said grasping apparatus (3), and held by its circumferential surface. After its being lifted by the grasping apparatus (3), the spool (12) is retained in an axial alignment. This retention is discontinued, before the spool (12) is released at the spool station (1) where it is required. For the execution of this procedure, a retaining arrangement (8), composed of stopping devices (4 and 5), is provided for the spool (12) which is held by the grasping apparatus (3). The retaining arrangement (8) idles in a location outside of the transport path which the empty spool (12) will occupy when held. From this idle position, the retaining arrangement (8) can be brought into an operational position, in which it assures the correct axial position of the empty spool (12) which is being held by the grasping apparatus (3).
