    • Compositions prepared by mixing (A) 50-90 wt % of organopolysiloxane having a viscosity of from 50 to 100·106 mm2/s at 25° C., (B) 10-50 wt % of a metal oxide from the group consisting of titanium oxide, zirconium dioxide, zinc oxide, cerium(III) and cerium(IV) oxide, (C) 0.3-5 wt % of organosilicon compound containing basic nitrogen bound to silicon via carbon, (D) 0.05-0.5 wt % of platinum calculated as the element, in the form of a bis(alkynyl)platinum complex which additionally includes donor ligands, and (E) from 0 to 5 wt %, preferably 0 wt %, of further components, the sum of the percentages chosen within each of the ranges specified under (A) to (E) being 100 wt %, and the wt % in each case being based on the total weight of the additive, are highly suitable as additives to crosslinkable organosilicon compositions, providing one or more of improved tracking resistance, high arc resistance, and decreased flammability.

    • The present invention is drawn to an anti-lubricant in the form of a composition that is a viscous fluid, a paste, a gel or even a semi-solid rubber-like material. More specifically, the invention suggests the use as the anti-lubricant of a composition of two or more siloxanes chemically reacted together to form a desirably thick viscous fluid, paste, gel or rubbery solid reaction product, the resultant reaction product being admixed with a more liquid, mobile siloxane that itself has anti-lubricant properties, this more mobile siloxane, which may be either one of the two reacted together or a completely different one, is immobilized—stably dispersed—within the reaction product (and not only provides the required anti-lubricant property but may also be used to modify the final “viscosity” of the composition).

    • The invention herein provides a silicone polymer emulsion comprising: a) a silicone polymer; and b) a surfactant; and a liquid continuous phase comprising a diol, wherein the diol comprises from about 25 to about 100% by weight of the continuous phase. Further provided is a method of making a condensation polymer/silicone polymer blend comprising the steps of: a) preparing a silicone/polymer emulsion comprising a silicone polymer in a liquid continuous phase; b) introducing the silicone polymer emulsion into a condensation polymerization reaction medium prior to or during the condensation polymerization reaction, wherein the condensation polymerization reaction medium comprises (1) a diacid, di-isocyanate, dialkyl carbonate, diaryl carbonate, dihalo carbonate or a mixture thereof, wherein the continuous phase, the condensation polymerization reaction medium or both comprises a diol component; and c) polymerizing the diol and component b(1) thereby forming a condensation polymer/silicone polymer blend. Polymer blends comprising a condensation polymer/silicone polymer blend are also provided.
