摘要： In textile machines fed with fibre slivers, such as e.g. drawframes, immediate stopping of the machine is required in case of a sliver breakage before or on the feed table. This requirement is fulfilled using the inventive stop motion apparatus quickly and reliably, by tilting a pan arranged beneath each normally running fibre sliver and which does not contact such fibre sliver. The reaction time of the stop motion apparatus can be shortened by providing a heavy body on, and movable with respect to, the pan, the body being e.g. in the form of a steel ball. Since the pan in its working position does not contact the normally running fibre sliver, slivers of improved quality are produced and contamination of the stop motion apparatus is avoided.

A movable contact is supported by the operating member and is engageable with a fixed contact on the body to complete an electrical circuit through the switch. Adjustment of the position of the fixed contact relative to the body adjusts the displacement of the operating member which is necessary to operate the switch.

摘要： In air-stream actuated web-break detectors an air-deflectable cup-like switch actuator is formed with a surrounding lip which shields the partially enclosed switch assembly from incursion of fiber and like particles otherwise tending to obstruct the switching function. In operation an air-stream is projected through an elongated tube having an orifice which faces the switch actuator. For disabling the detector for repair purposes, a single movable assembly slides a sleeve over the tube orifice to interrupt the air-stream and concurrently moves into place a part which blocks the motion of the switch actuator.

摘要： A two-piece snap-on yarn trapper including a molded U-shaped bracket that snaps onto a yarn detector switch and supports a plural-turn helical spring. This spring is held inwardly bowed in the bracket so that the turns are held open or separated on the yarn side to provide a series of V-grooves for receiving the yarn that is drawn tightly thereinto by the trip lever of the yarn detector switch thereby to trap the yarn when it goes slack. The bracket is provided with a pair of inner edges or guides to guide the yarn to the middle portion of the helix where trapping is most effective and reliable. The helical spring is compressed and snap-in assembled on a pair of angularly-disposed stubs received in opposite ends thereof to hold the spring in its bowed condition on the bracket due to the tension of the helix.
