    • A tubeless tire includes a tread portion, two sidewalls, an interfacing material integrally formed between the two sidewalls of a pliable, flexible yet reliable material, two beads extending outwardly from the tire, delimiting a section formed by the interfacing material, and an air valve stem provided on the interfacing material. The thickness of the interfacing material is substantially the same as the thickness of the two sidewalls, and the beads project outwardly of an outer surface of the interfacing material. The beads are disposed in a position such that when the tire is mounted on a rim, the beads will fit within the rim, when the tire is inflated on the rim using the air valve stem, the interfacing material will expand, causing the beads to fit tightly within the rim, thus fixing the tire on the rim, and there is no sealing layer within the tire.

    • A pneumatic wheel is disclosed made of a pneumatic tire and a rim wherein the tire sidewalls have a meridian plane convexity in their section midline which is directed toward the tire inside and so formed to be bent and compressed by inflation air. The tire also has a rim connection zone which is radially inner with respect to the sidewalls. The rim is single seated for connection zone encasement and has a circumferential channel shape with a radially outer directed opening with respect to the axis of rotation of the wheel. The width opening is smaller than the maximum channel width and the connection zone and channel have similar profiles with the cross section of the zone being no smaller than the cross section of the channel.

    • A tube-type tire to be mounted on the rim of a (e.g., spoke-type) wheel such as that commonly used by a bicycle or a motorcycle, whereby the tube-type tire will operate without a conventional inner tube and as if it were tubeless. The tire includes a main tire section that is seated upon the generally flat shelf of the rim and a pneumatic sealing ring having an inner tube that is seated upon the beadwell of the rim. An air chamber of the inner tube of the sealing ring is inflated to a greater pressure than an air chamber of the main tire section so as to isolate the air chamber of the main tire section from the rim and force the main tire section against the vertical lip of the rim. The sealing ring also has an outer inflatable liner that is located in surrounding engagement with the inner tube to separate the inner tube from the air chamber of the main tire section. The outer liner has one or more O-ring seals projecting outwardly from the side walls thereof and a centering lip projecting downwardly from the side walls. The O-ring seals are moved into sealing engagement with the inside of the main tire section when the air chamber of the inner tube is inflated and the liner is expanded. The centering lips of the liner are seated upon the beadwell of the rim to cause the liner to be automatically centered over the inner tube.

The nest includes an open area defined by the first flange having an upper surface. The cross-section of the channel have a dove-tailed shape. A tire, mounted on the previously described rim, includes a bead having side surfaces fitted against the lateral sides of the rim, wherein the bead includes protuberances extending inwardly over at least a portion of the first face surface of the piece of elastic material, and presses against the piece of elastic material; the bead is partially seated on a first seat formed by the first flange, and the piece of elastic material is at least partially seated on a second seat formed by the second flange.

    • An assembly comprising a wheel rim and an annular safety support member mounted on the rim portion between the rim bead seats and extending radially outwards beyond the rim bead retaining flanges to support a tire mounted on the rim when in a deflated condition. The support member rotates with the rim in the non load-bearing condition but rotates relative to the rim in the load-bearing condition to compensate for circumferential differences between the tire tread and the radially outer surface of the support member. The confronting surfaces on the support member and rim portion are profiled to axially locate the support member on the rim. Preferably the radially inner surface of the support member is of shallow convex profile and the confronting surface on the rim portion is of shallow concave profile.
