摘要： A bucking apparatus to be used in conjunction with a loader and topping saw that are mounted to a logging platform or trailer. The bucking apparatus is attached to the loader and includes a plurality of hatches. The hatches can be adjusted for different lengths so that different length logs can be cut when eliminating faults from the trees. The hatches of the bucking apparatus are measured to be particular distances from the topping saw and so, when a tree is pulled through the topping saw with the loader, the end being held can be aligned with one of the hatches, and then the saw can be engaged thus creating a log of the particular length.

摘要： A mandoline slicer having a blade, a pivotable platform and a compact, low profile suction device in a housing that is hinged to the front of the slicer so that the suction device may be rotated under the slicer for storage and rotated at least partially outward from the front of the slicer for use. The height of a front edge of the platform is changed in relation of the height of the blade by moving a lever horizontally in a slot in a side of the slicer. The lever is geared so that the changes in the height of the front edge of the platform are incremental. Thus, the thickness of food slices moved over the platform and into the blade may be varied by know incremental amounts. Rear legs, which are foldable under the slicer for storage, contain compartments or slots for convenient, compact storage of slicer attachments.

This invention relates specifically to the center carriage feed system having a bottom carriage and a top carriage in which the bottom carriage supports the log continuously for its full length and the top carriage utilizes hold down bars or dogs that engage the top of the log. The bottom carriage includes a log supposing vertical member having a transverse member at its lower end provided with a wheel at each end to engage widely spaced parallel tracks. One of the wheels and tracks are of V-shaped configuration to stabilize and guide the vertical log supporting member to reduce lateral deflection. The other track and wheels are flat. The wheels and tracks effectively support the log throughout its length and during its reciprocatory movement.

摘要： A vacuum valve includes a valve body with a cylindrical sidewall having a vacuum inlet coupled to a vacuum source and a vacuum outlet. A piston is disposed within the valve body for movement between an open position and a closed position and provides a vacuum port that extends between the vacuum inlet and the vacuum outlet when the piston is in the open position. The valve also includes means for cooperating with a vacuum source to remove material from the vacuum valve as the piston moves between the open and closed positions. The vacuum port of the piston includes a reduced diameter portion that provides a passageway for vacuum and debris. A sharp edge, preferably an annular knife edge, circumferentially surrounds the piston adjacent, and extending into, the reduced diameter portion. The annular knife edge is oriented to provide a cutting stroke during movement of the piston from the open position to the closed position. As the piston moves from the open position to the closed position, the annular knife cuts any debris remaining in the vacuum inlet or outlet and retains the debris in the reduced diameter portion until the piston moves back to the open position, whereupon the vacuum from the vacuum source sucks the debris out of the valve.

The modules are independently maneuverable to a land site having a ready source of logs to be processed and are arranged in a preselected geometrical configuration adjacent one another and the source of logs. A log from the source is received on the first module and debarked. The debarked log is moved axially and transversely off the first module and onto a second module. A plurality of saw means are carried by the second module to form boards from a log being processed. A third module is located at the output side of the second module and is adapted to receive and further process the boards formed on the second module.
