    • A power tool includes a housing, a rotary motor disposed in the housing, a jack shaft coupled to the motor and a spindle mounted in the housing for carrying a tool. A first wobble plate assembly is coupled to the jack shaft for driving the spindle to reciprocate at least approximately linearly in a linear path along a predetermined axis. A counterweight is mounted in the housing for performing a rotative reciprocating motion and pivoting relative to the housing about a pivot axis. The pivot axis is disposed in a plane perpendicular to the predetermined axis and fixed relative to the housing. A second wobble plate assembly is coupled to the jack shaft for driving the counterweight. The use of the counterweight results in no friction or restriction with a large stroke and large area, so that stability is improved, fitting of the counterweight is simple and cost is reduced.

    • It is an object of the present invention to provide a useful technique for achieving weight reduction of the counter weight while reducing vibration in the reciprocating power tool. According to the invention, representative reciprocating power tool may include a motor, a tool bit, a slider, a motion converting mechanism, a counter weight and a component part of the motion converting mechanism. The tool bit performs a predetermined operation by reciprocating. The slider reciprocates to drive the tool bit. The motion converting mechanism converts a rotating output of the motor into a reciprocating movement of the slider. The counter weight reciprocates in a direction opposite to the reciprocating direction of the slider to reduce vibration caused by the reciprocating movement of the slider. The component part includes component of motion in a direction parallel to the reciprocating movement of the slider. The component part performs vibration reducing function together with the counter weight. Because component part can move parallel to the reciprocating slider to cooperate with the counter weight in reducing vibration caused within the power tool, the weight of the counter weight can be decreased while keeping the sufficient capability of vibration reducing function.

    • A device for feeding a workpiece to the saw component of a sawing machine and for clamping the workpiece during the cutting thereof by the saw component, has first and second clamping jaws supported on a table of the sawing machine and cooperating with one another for immobilizing the workpiece; and a feed roller supported at the machine table in the zone of the clamping jaws for feeding the workpiece into the operational range of the saw component. The device further has an arrangement connected to the first clamping jaw for displacing the same towards and away from the second clamping jaw in a direction inclined with respect to the surface of the machine table. In this manner the first clamping jaw can be set at a relatively short distance from the surface of the machine table into a closed position in which it presses the workpiece against the second clamping jaw and further, the first clamping jaw can be set at a relatively large distance from the surface of the machine table into an open position in which it releases the workpiece. The device further has an arrangement coupled to the feed roller for moving the same into an operative position simultaneously with the displacement of the first clamping jaw into its open position and for moving the feed roller into an inoperative position simultaneously with the displacement of the first clamping jaw into its closed position. In the operative position the feed roller projects, at least partially, beyond the surface of the machine table for engaging and advancing the workpiece and in the inoperative position the feed roller is in a withdrawn state below the surface of the machine table.

    • The saw blade for an electric compass- or keyhole-saw has a saw part with a tooth arrangement and a clamping part with which the saw blade is clamped between two clamping pieces of a clamping device of the compass- or keyhole-saw with a clamping screw to hold parts together in clamped relationship. The clamping part has a centering opening and a plug or insert opening for the tensioning or clamping screw. The plug or insert opening is delimited or bounded by two clamping tongues laterally thereof. The relationship or ratio of the width of the clamping part measured transverse to the longitudinal axis of the saw blade with respect to the length lies in a range of approximately 1:1.4. The relationship or ratio of the length of the plug or insert opening to the width thereof lies in a range between approximately 1:0.7 to approximately 1:1.1. The clamping tongues are constructed respectively having approximately square or rectangular shape. Because of this construction and arrangement, the saw blade can be clamped in the clamping device without gap formation. The reaction forces arising or encountered during saw operation and sawing are taken up by the clamping tongues without danger of any damage occurring and these reaction forces are conveyed into the clamping device.

    • In a hand-held motor-driven compass saw, the end of the reciprocating rod is connected to the end of the saw blade by means of a clamping member. The reciprocating rod has a U-shaped cross-section whereby it defines a relatively flat recess into which the end of the saw blade is inserted. The end of the reciprocating rod and the end of the saw blade are surrounded by a protective shield. The clamping member may be displaced along the end portion of the reciprocating rod from outside of the shield so as to release the clamping member or to lock it on the end of the reciprocating member when the saw blade is inserted into the recess formed in the U-shaped reciprocating rod.

    • Frame saw for sawing of essentially horizontally fed timber comprising a plurality of spaced apart saw blades placed substantially perpendicular to the direction of feed of the timber, i.e. without overhand. A crankshaft is connected to a sash in which the said saw blades are clamped to impart to the sash a reciprocating upward and downward motion with upper and lower turning points in relation to and controlled by a system of guides which by the said crankshaft via one or several guide connecting rods and via one or several controlled guide links is arranged to be moved or phase-displaced in the direction of feed of the timber before the sash is moved. The guide system and the guide connecting rods are designed with fulcrums in or in relation to the said guide links, which are pivotably disposed. The fulcrums of the guide system are so located in relation to the fulcrums of the guide connecting rod that the fulcrums of the guide system move along a circular arc with a shorter radius than do the fulcrums of the guide connecting rod.This arrangement imparts to the guide system and thus to the saw blades a movement with such a horizontal component as to cause the guide system to be displaced against the feed direction of the timber when the sash and thus the saw blades are in the vicinity of the said upper turning point and during the downward movement, and in such a complementary horizontal movement in the feed direction of the timber when the sash and thus the saw blades are in the vicinity of the said lower turning point and on their way up. Thus, the cutting engagement of the saw blades with the timber becommes more or less constant during the greater part of the cutting period.
