    • The invention pertains to a special device for the production, preferably by machining, of workpieces with noncircular outer and inner contours such as squares, hexagons, ellipses, polygons and the like, or eccentric circular bores and/or journals. The work tool housing is provided with an uneven transmitting gear unit, with which, by an appropriate change of the path speed of the work tool and its cutting edge, the necessary movement relative to the workpiece can be generated. A gear unit of this type is relatively easily realizable, for example by employment of two unround complementary gearwheels. The unround complimentary gearwheels are constructed or designed as so-called double screw drive gears. Double screw gears with unround wheels have hitherto not been known. They have the advantage that they, with respect to the rolling path, make possible the realization of curves with substantial discontinuities. Besides this they are quite simple to manufacture, for example, using a thread cutting cycle upon a lathe and using a tool device for unround processing as herein described.

    • An eccentric facing unit wherein a tool driving shaft is concentrically disposed in a spindle for relative rotation with respect to the spindle. A tool-shaft supporting shaft is eccentrically disposed in a spindle and is connected with the tool driving shaft through a geared transmission so as to rotate at speed two times faster than that of the tool driving shaft. A tool shaft is eccentrically disposed in the tool-shaft supporting shaft in an eccentricity equal to that of the tool-shaft supporting shaft with respect to the spindle and is connected through an Oldham's shaft coupling with the tool driving shaft for integral rotation therewith.
