摘要： A tillage member in the shape of a disc which has large notches which cause the disc to turn at the same speed as the forward speed of an implement to which it is attached, thereby mixing the soil instead of merely turning over the soil. In order to achieve this mixing and pulling up of the soil for incorporation purposes, the disc has an outer periphery with a concave side and a convex side. An opening in the center of the disc is provided for adapting the disc to be mounted for rotation about a generally horizontal axis. The disc has a plurality of notches in the outer periphery thereof and a plurality of projections disposed respectively between adjacent ones of the notches. The number of notches is no less than six and no more than nine and the number of projections is no less than six and no more than nine. Also, the depth of each notch is approximately fifty percent of the width of each notch. Each of the projections have a width at the outer periphery of the disc and the width of each projection equals the width of each notch±ten percent of the width of each notch. The disc is also larger than most discs and has a minimum diameter of twenty-two inches and a maximum diameter of forty-two inches.

摘要： The present disc opener assembly for a seed planter is for a single disc opener arrangement and is embodied in several embodiments. FIGS. 1 and 1a illustrate two embodiments of the present disc opener assembly the specifics of each will be described below. Referring now to FIGS. 1, 1a and 2, there is illustrated a disc opener assembly (10) mounted on a tool bar (7) connected to a work vehicle (5) for opening a seed trench (8) in the ground upon which the vehicle (5) moves. A main arm (12) is attached to the tool bar (7) with a disc (14) mounted for rotation on the main arm (12). A depth adjustment mechanism (40) is used to adjust the depth of the disc (14) in the seed trench (8) with a seed placement device (70) positioned in the seed trench (8) for depositing a seed (71) in the seed trench (8). The seed trench (8) having been opened by the disc (14) as the work vehicle (5) moves across the ground.

摘要： A disk scraper system for an agricultural implement includes a tubular member slidably supported by the implement frame adjacent a gang assembly having a plurality of disks. Scrapers are fixed to the member and project into scraping relationship with the disks to remove dirt and debris from the surfaces of the disks. A hydraulic cylinder is connected between the frame and the tubular member and connected through a pressure control valve assembly to a source of fluid under pressure to bias the member so the scrapers are urged into scraping relationship relative to the disks. The pressure control valve assembly may be remotely adjustable to vary the scraper pressure on-the-go as conditions change. The system maintains the selected scraper bias even as the gang assembly moves vertically and from side to side relative to the frame with changing contour and soil conditions.

A special spring coil mounting of the tine provides a lively vibratory action as the tine encounters various impact loads from different directions during field operations, thus rendering the tine essentially self-cleaning insofar as trash accumulations are concerned. The angle of attack of the tine relative to the ground and the coulter can be readily adjusted without diminishing the vibratory action of the tine.

摘要： Disk coulters are used on numerous soil engaging farm implements to cut furrows into which seed or fertilizer can be deposited. Disk coulters may also be used to cover furrows or simply cut trenches in the land. Typically, an implement or tool bar frame may have several disk coulter assemblies attached to the frame. Some are dedicated to inserting seed into the soil and other fertilizer. In an alternate configuration, the implement or tool bar may have a combination of shanks and coulters. In any given application it may not be necessary to use some of the coulter disks assemblies. Because of the wear on coulters as they move through the soil and encounter rock and other debris, it is advantageous to be able to quickly lift some of the coulter disks out of the soil while operating with other disks. The present invention provides an eccentric rotating element attached to a spring which generally in operation exerts force upwardly on the coulter arm and therefore maintains the coulter in a downward position. By rotating this eccentric rotating element the spring may be released and the coulter disk raised, by hand, off the ground and thereafter locked in place with a spacer element. With the present invention the operator can easily lift or lower coulters in the midst of a seeding operation.

The coulter assembly has a disc for creating furrows, with a floating scraper blade on the inner side to keep the inner side of the disc free of debris. The scraper blade also assists in maintaining the furrow once it has been opened by the disc. The scraper blade has a leading edge constructed of carbide and inserts attached to the scraper blade for reducing wear on the scraper blade during operation. A tine extends across the outer side of the disc in a configuration that prevents soil from adhering to the outer side of the disc, and in trash covered fields, trash will wrap around the tine to act as an organic wear pad between the disc and the tine.
