    • A locking band for use with a container having an annular end portion defining a top opening and a removable cover overlying said opening. The locking band comprises a split circular ring, generally U-shaped in cross section, having first and second ends and including an outer circumferential wall. The second end is of a larger size than the first end to define a handle. A first notch opens outwardly proximate the first end and a second notch opens inwardly proximate the second end. Circumferential spacing between the notches is a select amount greater than a circumference of a cover. A band link has a first end and a second end, each end including a shaft receivable in the respective first and second notches. Spacing between the shafts is substantially similar to the select amount. In use, with the split circular ring surrounding the removable cover and annular end portion, the handle is forced inwardly toward the first end until the handle overlies the first end to secure the cover on the container.

    • A pin latch includes a guide block, a handle having a trigger, and a shear pin housed slidably within the guide block and connected to the handle. The shear pin includes a catch-pin engageable by the trigger, and is slidable between an engageable position and a disengageable position when the handle is moved from a closed position to an open position. Alternately, the pin latch includes a bracket connected to the shear pin and includes a catch-pin, and the handle is moveable to an intermediate position, such that a trigger is disengaged from the catch-pin and the shear pin engages a stop pin. A guide block spring acts on the stop pin to retain releasably the handle in its intermediate position. The guide block includes a finger and the shear pin includes a groove sized and shaped to receive the finger when the pin latch is in an unlatchable position.

    • A safety guard (10) for use with a wide angle joint on an agricultural power takeoff (PTO) shaft comprises a guard housing that extends around the wide-angle joint when the guard is fitted. The guard housing comprises a first housing part (12) hingedly connected to a second housing part (14) to thereby allow the first housing part (12) and second housing part (14) to move relatively open to each other and relatively closed to each other about a hinge (19), a locking member (50, 54) to lock the first housing part (12) to the second housing part (14) in a closed condition and operable to be unlocked to allow the first housing part (12) and the second housing part (14) to be moved away from each other about the hinge. Each housing part (12, 14) includes a lip (44, 46) on one end thereof, the lip (44, 46) having a profile to match a profile of an end bellows (38) to which the guard (10) is attached. The safety guard (10) may further comprise one or more internal members (28, 30, 32, 34) to engage with a groove (25) provided in an outer surface of a guard support bearing (24). This further assists in maintaining the guard in position.

    • An exemplary lamp includes a first member, a second member, and buckle assemblies securing the first member on the second member. Each buckle assembly includes a connecting member having an end thereof pivotally connected to the second member, a buckle having an end thereof pivotally connected to an opposite end of the connecting member and having an opposite end thereof clasping the first member to the second member, and a knob. Each buckle assembly has a dead point. When the buckle is flapped towards the connecting member and a pivoted end between the buckle and the connecting member passes through the dead point to get close to the second member, the knob extends through the buckle. Then the knob is rotated along a predetermined direction to press on the buckle, thereby preventing the pivoted end from moving away from the second member.

    • A latch mechanism for releasably latching a first member to a second member. The latch mechanism includes a bracket adapted to be attached to the first member and bolt pivotally coupled to the bracket. A handle is pivotally coupled to the bracket and is operatively associated with the bolt such that the handle selectively pivots the bolt between a latched and unlatched position. A trigger is pivotally coupled to the handle and a locking member is pivotally coupled to the trigger. The locking member is adapted to releasably couple the trigger to the bracket to prevent pivotal movement of the handle and the bolt from the latched position. The trigger includes the tool receiving recess such that the latch mechanism may be moved between the latched and unlatched positions with the mechanical advantage provided by the tool.
