    • A first coupling member 10 has a body 11 and an internal poppet 16. The exterior of the body 11 includes flats 30. A lug 31 is formed on one of the flats 30 during machining of the flats 30. A dust cover attached to the first coupling member 11 includes a cover portion 40 and a tether portion 41. The cover portion 40 protects an exterior surface 19 of the body, and the cover portion 40 to and tether portion 41 each protects one lateral side of the lug 31. The tether portion 41 includes an annular ring portion 43 disposed in an annular groove 25. A second embodiment 110 of the first coupling member is also disclosed. A second coupling member 210 may be coupled to or uncoupled from either of the first coupling members 10 or 110.

    • A fabrication method of a metal shell to be installed on a park plug is provided which is made up of a small-diameter portion, a large-diameter portion, and a wrapping portion. The wrapping portion is to be wrapped by staking about the spark plug to achieve installation of the metal shell on the spark plug. The method comprises pressing a workpiece with a punch to shape the wrapping portion of the metal shell in a first cold forging process and processing the workpiece to shape the small-diameter portion of the metal shell in a second cold forging process different from the first cold forging process. This produces the metal shell which is less susceptible to cracks when installed on the spark plug and has an increased service life.

    • A flange forming drill means for drilling a hole through the side of a pipe or the like and forming a hole encircling flange includes a drill rod mountable on a rotating power source with a drill bit at the lower end and associated retractable flange forming members which are extendable down below the edges of a drilled hole by turning an adjustment cone mounted on the drill rod. The adjustment cone is enclosed and keyed to an externally smooth, protective shield selectively securable to a locking ring on the drill at a plurality of relative angular positions around the drilling axis. The locking flange includes a circumferentially extending groove provided with holes or recesses at opposite ends defining terminal positions of locking so that in a first terminal locking position, the forming members are retracted completely within the outer surface of the drill bit and in a second terminal locking position the forming members extend or project outwardly from the drill bit for forming a flange around the drilled hole of a desired internal diameter as the drill bit is moved outwardly from the pipe.
