摘要： An equestrian knee pad for gripping, allowing added contact at the knee with the saddle for better leg control, as well as protecting an equestrian's knees from tissue injury. A generally flattened pillow-like pad is affixed to two pair of flexible and elastic straps, each strap having an end proximate to the pad and an end distal to the pad. Each strap extends generally parallel outwardly from the long edge of the oval pad. The oval pad comprises two oval layers of a web fabric, creating an inwardly facing surface (being the surface to be worn against the knee) and an outwardly facing surface (being the surface to be worn against the saddle). The inwardly facing surface is preferably made of leather to minimize friction and provide a natural cushioning effect. The outwardly facing surface is preferably suede, a textured surface which naturally provides a gripping effect upon the leather of a saddle. A cushioned fill material lies between each of the layers and causes the pad to appear pillow-like. The fill material may be made of any cushioning material, but preferably is a foamed resilient material. The proximate end of each strap is sandwiched between the two oval layers and permanently stitched in place or otherwise attached.

摘要： A bifurcated trunk with thigh length leg portions, each terminating in a lower extremity, has closure structure to tighten the lower extremity. The closure structure can include a slit extending upwardly from the lower extremity and defining first and second sides of the leg portions on respective sides of the slit. Structure is provided for fastening one of the sides of each leg portion to the other. The fastening structure is preferably cooperating hook and pile surfaces, one on each side of the leg portions. The closure structure of the invention is also useful on other types of garments. Padding is provided in the rump area to protect the buttocks against scrapping and bruising. The padding preferably extends a distance into the leg portions where it is influenced by the closure structure so as to retain the flexible padding in a protective position protecting the buttocks and thighs of the wearer even during strenuous sports activity, particularly sliding into bases.

摘要： A pair of elongated upstanding inner and outer stiff, but slightly flexible, members are provided for disposition along the thigh of the user with the inner member extending along and opposing the thigh and the outer member remote from the thigh. The members are at least slightly downwardly divergent and the outer member includes a lower end portion projecting below the lower end of the inner member. The knee guard defined by the inner and outer members may be secured to the user's thigh by tape bands encircling the thigh and overlying the outer surface of the inner member. The lower end portion of the outer member is to be horizontally registered with the associated knee and includes padding structure supported from the inner side thereof. A second form of the invention includes two pairs of inner and outer upstanding members connected together by means of horizontally disposed and rearwardly opening upper and lower generally U-shaped braces extending and secured between the upper ends of the pairs of members and the lower ends of the outer members. The inner surfaces of the U-shaped members are padded and a flexible panel extends along and is secured between the inner members throughout substantially their entire length and may be deflected forwardly to enclose an area slightly smaller than the area enclosed by the upper U-shaped brace.

摘要： A knee support or wrap especially designed for athletes stabilizes the knee ligaments and provides continuous support for the knee regardless of the position of the leg. A tubular, elastic sheath is slipped over the knee, and a pair of elastic straps anchored to the sheath are drawn into place and held by Velcro fasteners. The straps in their operative positions extend in crisscross fashion over the inwardly facing sidewall portion of the sheath, and in directions to duplicate the physiologic stability of the medial knee ligament complex. Felt pads on the sheath under the straps add body to the support, prevent bunching of the elastic sheath, and aid in the distribution of the pressure applied by the elastic straps. The support contains no rigid components and is constructed so as to not impair the normal flexibility of the knee joint.
